I would scan the same location repeatedly (with multiple studs) and could never get a consistent reading in the same location. I watched youtube videos, read the manual (multiple times), changed the battery etc. and still no luck. The only plus is I was able to find stud by averaging out all my various readings/markings and guesstimating where the stud was...

I am pretty sure I calibrated it correctly, but still read I had a stud where I did not, and none when there actually was a stud. I drilled three holes into my wall trying to hang a TV mount >.< It is going in the garbage and I am looking for a better quality since I am a very novice DIY'er

Would Not RecommendThis unit did not perform well in our home. Our home has plaster walls, seemed to really struggle with that type of wall. Also, I do t recommend Lowes because maybe if an associate had been hanging around would have picked up a bitter model.
