Easy set up/install. Great features

I used the app to do step-by-step instructions and it was amazingly easy. Anyone can install this lock if they can follow simple instructions. I like the features that I can remotely lock/unlock my door. No more worries when I go on vacation about whether I forgot to lock my front door. I also love that you can set a temporary code like for maintenance (or friends) that allows access only at certain times and the code access can expire. Excellent operation and very easy to install

The lock works very well for local operations. It was billed as being able to function with the Ring security system. I have been unable to get the remote functions to operate between the Autumn chip system and the Ring security system.

Nice Smart Lock

It has taken me a long time to write the review because it was too hot out to leave the door open for awhile if I wasn't able to install the lock easily. I am glad I waited because when it was finally decent weather-wise, my brother and I ran into an issue with how the previous owners decided to install the previous lock. Easy to install

Its not our first rodeo replacing deadbolts and door knobs, so with a bit of experience already, installing this was fairly straight forwards. It took a total of about 20 minutes. Programming it was initially easy, I was able to set up the master code as well as two user codes, but was unable to set up more after that. The app was easy to set up as well. Using it has been easy, touching the code in is smooth and intuitive

Met my expectations

Simple setup. Great looks. compatibility with google home. Simple to use app. Checked all my boxes. I also like being able to give people temporary codes and such if needed. I’m sure most locks allow that but figured I’d point that out as well.

If you are handy this lock is not difficult to install

After removing the old lock I had to do some minor adjustment to the door to accommodate the slightly different diameter of the dead bolt assembly. Used my Dremel tool's sanding attachment to slightly increase the diameter. Once that was done the dead bolt assembly fit right in and the rest of the lock was easy to install following the instructions. However, I would recommend that you also watch some of the videos on Youtube that show how to install the lock. The lock looks and works great.

Yale paper instructions are OK but say to scan a nonexistent QR code for Yale app instructions or use BILT by downloading another nonexistent QR code. The Yale app uses different instructions than the August app which differ from the paper instructions. August had me install the door sensor under the deadbolt which doesn’t work with this lock so I had to drill another hole on my door frame above the deadbolt as per the Yale instru...

Average wifi lock

Good lock but we had to replace one that was ruined due to the elements.

I got this because I’m tired of losing my keys or having to worry about keys while walking my dogs. It was super easy to install, looks super pretty on the outside and inside the door, and does everything it says it should. Confusing instructions but works great once you pass that

Overall this is a great lock and the installation is fairly easy. The key to success is that the lock has to be installed to operation smoothly from a mechanical perspective, smartlock or not. If you find yourself forcing the latch to lock manually, then wifi or bluetooth won't be able to overcome that. you'll have to fix that first. Works great and easy to install

I used this to replace an existing lock. It fit almost perfectly. A few small adjustments and the lock was installed and working properly. The istructions for use was easy to understand and I was working it from my phne and Alexa in no time.

Great value

The product is great, but it loses a star because the touchscreen is not sensitive enough. It is really easy to use once installed on the app.

Great improvement

We installed a similar lock about 6 years ago and it was dying. We were hesitant to spend the money but this was a big bang for the buck. The august software is a huge improvement from our old lock. Having it open just as we get to the door is an amazing perk. It has also told us when we have forgotten to secure the door - great for safety.

Easy to Install and So Nice to Have

The lock works very well. It was easy to install and get started using. I have a standard door and just had to replace the lock and was able to start using some of the nice smart home features very quickly. So nice to not have to worry about locking the door and bringing a key with me everytime I leave the home. Great purchase!!

Installation was not easy

Not a big fan of this model. When I try to close the lock I get a X in the number pad (1.3.5.7.9) flashes up. It gets jammed with the strike plate. Installation was not easy as I had initially installed in the wrong side. My door opens from right to left. If you do this then you have to factory restore this to change the closing direction of the deadbolt. To factory restore you have to open the inside first and press a button and then add the batteries to power it.

quirky setup but then flawless

To install I had to make the deadbolt hole deeper (thankfully I had the right size drill bit). For installing the magnet in the door frame, the suggested drill bit was a hair too big so I wrapped the adhesive around the magnet before pushing it in. For the app, I used the August app. It was a bit confusing at first that you have to add both the lock and the wifi bridge as two separate devices. Everything has worked flawlessly since then, including the proximity auto unlock.
