Great features but subpar packing

Unit has some really great features and works great although the packaging is not very robust. Laying the unit on its side for shipping is not a good idea as the brine well tends to come out of its brackets. I had to order two to get one that was usable.

Product works great and is easy to install.

Box was damaged more than a typical shipping damage. Product was okay though. Also need to stock more items on shelf like this for people like me who hate to order online.

Good product. Poor tracking of delivery.

The product is very good. The problem is tracking the shipment. After I ordered the water softener on line, I was notified to join the Lowes app to track the progress of the delivery. Every time I entered my order number into the app, it said that I have no orders. That's not true because I had the order number and my bank statement showing my credit card was charged. Somebody needs to fix that glitch in your computer system.

Horrible product

I had high hopes for this water softener when I got it. Seemed like the perfect solution for my water problems. Unfortunately this never worked right from the start. I was not aware that the salt tank should be water free. I have been putting up with scale and calcium buildup on my showers and faucets for years just thinking I have other water problems. Unforturtunatly it was this water softener malfunctioning since day 1. Now 5 years later it's too late file a warranty claim that it never worke...

Great price, great product, easy to install

We have had this water softener for over a year. It was easy to install and we'd never installed one before or done much plumbing (outside of installing new sink faucets). It works as intended and we've had absolutely no issues with it during this first year of ownership. We highly recommend it!

Replace with similar model makes DIY pretty easy

Delivered right to my garage. Installed in a very short time... I replaced a 12 year old water softener with a similar model as the old one... all the piping from the old one fit exactly when installing the new one. It was a pretty easy DIY given the old and new models were similar height, piping locations, etc.

Brine flush problems

Have tried eveything to get the brine to fully flush out after recharge. Whirlpool only says the drain is wrong. Have changed the drain 4 times - all to no avail. Have had other models in past - no problems. This model seems to have problems and whirlpool not helping.

Broken within 4 years. DO NOT BUY

The circuit board burned out twice in under 3 years and now the control Board cracked. Cheap plastic, cheap unit, bugs get in the back, doesn’t work properly. We are looking for a new unit.

Quit after 5 years

My last Ecowater softener lasted 24 years. This Whirlpool didn't even make it 5 years. I even cleaned it with Whirlpool cleaner every 4 months as directed. Makes me question the quality of the big box store units.

Worst Water Softener

Installed in 2016. Failed in 2019. Suspect it failed way before, but that when I noticed it. I had bought it from Lowes in San Antonio.Professionally installed through Lowes assigned Plumber for another 300 dollars. Poor customer service who ask you to troubleshoot like your a fool. This thing will not last more than 3 years. Ours is household of 2 adults and 3 kids under 8.

5 year life

This lasted me exactly 5 years despite using Morton salt (recommended by Whirlpool) and taking care of the unit. it has a 5 year warranty as well. Price 5 years ago was $500. Now it's $795 for exact same model.

Good for the price

This softner has worked well for my family of 4. Easy to install and reasonably priced. Happy with purchase.

EXtreemly poor product

In 2 1/2 years I have lost my second Whirlpool softener. If you want a water softener that will surely let you down in a year to a year and half this is you one to buy. When you look at the cost for a years service it is quite an expense. Well so it breaks down, well lets buy parts to fix. NO ONE SELLS THE PARTS.
