Would RecommendThe product works as expected by softening the water nicely. Easy to set up. If you are replacing an existing softener make sure your current bypass valve is the right size otherwise you are going to install it like a new install instead of just sliding the new one into place. Big difference. The difference between the smaller and larger bypass is only a half inch so double check. The next day free shipping was incredible.

Danger: cross-threading bypass valve
The installation directions were not detailed enough. The plastic threads on the bypass valve are too easy to cross-thread with a brass fitting unless they are connected to the first stage of your water lines BEFORE inserting the bypass unit into the receiving unit.

Would Not RecommendYour Whirlpool water softener is probably an “as advertised” product, but we will not know with this particular unit, having been dropped somewhere along the delivery line. Damaged beyond use, we will return it and try again.

Works but delivery was not good.
Would Not RecommendThe water softener after one week seems to work well. However, it arrived disjointed with the top part askew and the brine well tube out of place. It took some effort to put it together properly.

Would RecommendBox had a was torn on the bottom. I did not open it at the store. Parts inside were damaged. Lid was partially off, easy fix. Salt brine tube damaged and out of place. Lowes is making it easy to return but I have to order another.
