Whirlpool water softner

Product arrived. Called Lowe’s to schedule install. Vendor Lowe’s gave me wanted to sell me a different water softener because they don’t install Whirlpool water softeners. What the heck. Not sure why I was given vendor who couldn’t do the work.

Delivered broken

The system was delivered broken. Wasn't able to use. I had to pack it up and take it back to the store myself.

dont buy this unit

This product was easy to install. Unfortunately the unit is not working and keeps throwing up error 3 notifications , after 3 calls to the Whirlpool help line they only could send me instructions to trouble shoot it myself. I ask to return the unit and they refused. They do not have technical support to come to my home and instead could only offer to ship replacement parts and instructed me to fix it myself - shocking customer / after sales support.

Less than 3 months old , still no soft water

This unit has been installed less than 3 months and it is the worst softener that we have ever had. Our old one was probably 20 years old and it was a Whirlpool so we thought we would replace it when it died with another Whirlpool but should not have. I NEED soft water!! How do we get service on this unit?

Bought this to replace a similar product which was about 12 yrs old and sprung a leak. This one was very similar to the other model and I thought it would pretty much be plug and play. Nope .... had to have plumbing company help with the install as the older plumbing attachments would not longer work so we had to replumb a small section of the pipe and connectors to make it woke. Check all fittings not just model mumber

I bought the exact same model number as I had about 15 years ago to save on redoing the plumbing. I got rid of the old one and the piping configuration was a little different so I still have to redo the pipes. This is not Lowes fault. Whirpool kept the same model number for a unit that had clearly changed, also in shape and size, but sold it as a previous version. This is Whirlpool’s fault.

Be prepared to be disappointed with damaged good.

The water softener is adequate. We received three (3) units because the first two (2) wre defective. One was incomplete, the second was damaged in factory. The thire is now operating adequately.

Measure twice still doesn’t fit.

The measurements on the instructions are all wrong. They are off by 1/2 inch. I was hoping for a direct replacement from my old unit but now I need to hire a plumber to come and install the new one. Very disappointed.

Failed after 4 years

This soften leaked media throughout my water system. Had to clean every faucet filter and relace a faucet. Haven't checked water heater or washer yet. Given the consequences of a plastic filter failure you would think they would but a better effort in design and manufacture. I have lost all confidence in replacing with another softener as I can't have this happen again.

Arrived Damaged

I ordered this on a Wednesday and FedEx delivered 3 days later on Saturday. We opened immediately and found the back cover had a deep crack. This happened because of Whirlpool's poor shipping packaging - there is no extra cushioning to support the back during shipping. Looking over reviews now, I see that many buyers complain of the same thing and receive damaged units. Poor plumbing connections.

Arrived in non-working condition.

The drive well was sitting loose in the salt tank when the softener was delivered. Now I can't get Whirlpool or Lowes to make it right.

Soft water again

Replaced my WHES44 (10 yrs old) and have soft water again. In SA, TX hard my water has exhausted the resin at around the 5 year point with low water pressure being the first indicator. Warranty Scam

I bought a Whirlpool water softener two years ago because of the name, I thought that they would stand behind their product. What the salesman didn't tell me because he didn't know was that if you do not buy the Whirlpool water softener cleaner and kept all your receipts you have no warranty. Who keeps receipts for two years. Whirlpool refused to help me after my distributor failed and resin fill my waterlines.
