handy device, but flawed.

I love it, but it is flawed. Problem is the locking pin gets bent because the 2 angle braces should be made of flat shaped instead of angle; thereby interfering with 2nd ladder rung & preventing extension ladder from collapsing completely. When I stand on ladder that rung presses, with all my weight, against middle of pin & bends it every time, when I attempt to telescope ladder to bottom most setting.

Works on harborfreight Franklin MT ladder

Works on the multipurpose FRANKLIN ladder found at harbor fright. It is a tight fit due to the curvature of the top rung, but it works! I am adding a chain for the top for added layer of safety.

Provides Stability at a Cost

I am 70 and needed the added stability for safely using my ladder. Installed it does. Downside is that my 20' Werner aluminum ladder is more difficult to maneuver and get in place. I now need help in that regard whereas before I could move the ladder around easily.

works great but...

I borrowed this from a friend right out of the box and one of the white protector pads fell off and I had to buy a set of new ones. If you buy one of these I suggest you glue the pads on before you use it.

Exactly what I needed

I was needing a way to reach my house gutter at the corner of my house where the grade slopes down about 8 feet. My intent was to clear the gutter and the downspout orifice. I have a Werner fiberglass extension ladder to which I had previously added the Werner ladder levelers. However, as it was, if I had leaned the ladder against the house, I would likely have crushed the gutter. So I purchased the Werner stabilizer. Easily, I assembled the stabilizer and mounted it to the top rungs of the ladd...

Helps protect the areas you are working around while on the ladder, we got this to help around window areas specifically.

Unbelievably Stable!

This is the second stabilizer I've purchased for my second 22" ladder. I consider it borderline stupidity if don't use this simple, but highly effective, device.

Ladder Stabilizer

The rubber protective cab fell off with gravity. The pin that secured the stabilizer to the step bent under pressure. I'll glue the cap on and get a heavier duty pin and then it should be a great addition to the ladder.
