Conditional recommendation

I installed this pump on the gas water heater in my garage and the valve device under my sink in the master bedroom bath at the far end of the house (about 70 feet away). The device does work but I have a big problem with setting the time of the on/off cycles. We are retired and don't really have a set schedule of when we go to bed or get up. Installing the hot water sensor and the pump was somthing that i should have done several years ago when i bought the house. Installation was straight forward , took less than an hour. Now, i no longer wait for hot water in tne bathroom at the opposite end of the house. Ordering though Lowes has always been the best way to go

Hot water recirculating pump

Had a plumber install this pump. Install went very smoothly and the plumber was done in just over an hour. Set the timer and what a difference it made. Our shower is on the opposite side of the house of our HWT and it took a good several minutes to get hot water wasting gallons. Now, I turn the shower on and count approximately 5 seconds and I have hot water. No wasting gallons of water now and setting the timer to go off at 11PM and on at 7AM saves a little electricity. Easy to install if you have the right tools and also mechanically inclined!

Packaging

I've used a variation of this product over 15 years. Replaced an existing one. Learned never to buy a repackaged product from Lowes. First one I bought was used and was well warn. Dust and dirt wasn't even cleaned off.

Poor tolerance

Works well, but installation is a problem. I crossthreaded 3 of the 4 fittings on the valve. Suggest you also get a 1/2" NPT die to correct the oversized threads. Also fought with the pump pipe fitting. Also experiencing leaks on both hoses at the 3/8" fittings and will need to be replaced.

The Watts pump works.

We have a large house with bathrooms on the opposite side of the house from the water heater. After installing this system, the water in all the bathrooms is warm within 1 second and full hot in under 10 seconds.

Wait’s over

I went to the farthest water outlet which was a long way, soldered a return water line to the hot water side and ran the copper line all the way back to the water heater. I did not use the plastic adapter that ties the hot to the cold. I insulted the hot water lines throughout the house. No more waiting for hot water. Works!

Pump works as advertised . Easy to install and operate . Hot water is waiting when needed. Lowe’s pickup service, on the other hand, was terrible. Waited 45 minutes for product to be located.

Disappointed

I had this installed by a plumber. I expected instant hot water in the shower that is 60’ from the water heater. It takes 60 seconds for the water to be hot

Great mechanism. Hot water instantly in every faucet in the whole house.

Works and Installs Great

I went 10 years dealing with flowing cold water thru the hot water lines to the kitchen. I just came across this at Lowes and took a look at the reviews. This took about 1 hour to install, mainly waiting for the water line to clear, and works fantastic. I now have almost immediate hot water in our kitchen now because of this device. I have 2 hot water tanks and now looking to install on my other tank.

Works great, but consumes more energy

Fairly easy to install (1-2 hours) and works as directed. However, using the pump causes your hot water heater to run more and the water savings may not offset the additional energy costs. We plugged in the pump to a smart plug that is controlled by Alexa. We tell Alexa to “turn on hot water” when we need it and the plug is programmed to turn off the pump 15 minutes later. Took some time to program, but worth the effort.

Instant WARM water

Cold and Hot water temperature will be about the same when in use. Timer is difficult to set up and requires resetting with DST & power outages. We set ours up on a wireless remote switch to conveniently turn on/off manually.

Night and day difference

This device cut the time it took to get warm / hot water significantly. I used to wait what felt like a minute or more for the water to just get warm. It now takes a few seconds to go from cold to warm to hot water. Couldn't be any simpler to get hot water to the farthest faucet.

Quick hot water, easy install.

Gives hot water anywhere in house in 2 seconds! Relative easy install. This is my second installation. The first pump lasted 9 years running 24 hours a day. Really love it.

Indespesable, but not as reliable as our old one.

We had one of these that lasted 5 years or more. When we had a new hot water heater installed, I had the plumber install a brand new one, and let him keep the old one. The new one died after 14 months (just outside of the warranty). However, this thing is indispensable in our house, and does a fantastic job of getting instant hot water everywhere it's needed, so we installed another without hesitation. Hopefully we just got a dud.
