Great when it worked...

It worked great for two weeks and then all of a sudden would not heat up at all. I made sure the cord was connected to the main unit and then re-plugged it in multiple times just in case the automatic shut-off was stuck. (The last time I used it, I turned it off with plenty of water left in the tank.) It has only shut off automatically twice before the failure. According to the Wagner rep I spoke to on the phone, using the automatic shut-off is bad for the unit. Will be taking it back and hope...

Saves a lot of time.

I bought this steamer to take wallpaper off of my 60+ year old home after trying numerous other techniques first. I wasn't expecting this steamer to do as good as it did. I just put the steam plate against the wall and started peeling and it just fell right off. I would recommend this steamer to anyone who has wallpaper to remove. It will make your life a lot easier when doing your home wallpaper removal projects.

Lifesaver!

We bought a 40 year old condo with 3 layers of wallpaper in most rooms. This steamer tackled the removal without a problem. Works as well as the larger rental units and you don't have to hurry to return it. I would recommend this unit without hesitation.

I hate removing old wallpaper and never used a steamer except once when I rented one and the thing leaked water considerably. A bad experience. Easiest tool for this purpose!

We bought a 1955 home where every bedroom and bath had dated, loud print wallpaper. For the first two rooms, we struggled with DIF stripper and every hand tool, to score and scrape off the multiple layers. Easy to Use

I had some wallpaper that was really resistant to coming off my wall. I'd tried the enzyme spray, scraping, even just warm water. Nothing worked well at all. However, this steamer made short work of it. After leaving the steamer plate against the wall for 10-15 seconds, I was able to scrape off that section easily. What had been taking days to do, I did in about an hour. It does take awhile to heat up at first and to cool down after it is unplugged. It does get very hot, so use caution.

Buy don't rent!

I rented a "professional" steamer at almost twice the price. I returned it and bought the Wagner 705. It works as well, if not better since it includes a smaller attachment for small spaces. Definitely recommend. Don't waste your money on a rental.

Absolutely FAB product!

This steamer works exceptionally well. The hose from the water to the wand is long enough so that you don't have to keep moving it as you move to new sections. The length of the hose doesn't lessen the steam, which is constant and consistent. After spending 20+ hours, I only removed about a 4x5 foot area of wallpaper using hot water, fabric softener, scrapers and Dif. I had never before stripped wallpaper. I started off using the concentrate solution, scoring tool, and such. It was largely a headache and very unsuccessful. works very well at removing wallpaper. only problem is that it does not have a on/off switch you have to unplug it to turn it off and arcs everytime.

Steamer works well

When we finally gave up on using liquid preps to remove wallpaper, we turned to this steamer, which was not our first. We found that it works quite well. All steamers are messy and you do need to be careful to avoid the steam and even hot water that may drip from the plate, but that's just common sense with a steamer. Makes job so easy!

Steamer works great. The trick is to remove the vinyl from the wall paper leaving only the paper backing stuck to wall. Then just apply steam and scrape. Very easy. Some wallpapers are just harder to remove than others. I haven't run into this but once and it was some kind of mural with string imbedded into the paper. It came off in small strips. Old Wallpaper is doomed

This little contraption has worked on every situation I've used it on so far. On wallboard that has been directly papered over it goes a little slow and sometimes the wallpaper comes off with a little of the paper covering of the wallboard but just be careful . Removing wallpaper is not easy- chemicals were only slightly effective, i had a wallpaper self pasting that i applied 18 years ago, if i had only known how difficult it would be to remove.... This steamer made it so much easier and faster- it has a simple design, and gets extremely hot, which is what you need to get the job done, this is definitely worth the money.
