What Customers Are Saying
The product is an effective and time-saving tool for removing wallpaper. It heats up water quickly and produces hot steam that softens the wallpaper, allowing it to be peeled off in large strips with minimal damage to the walls. Key benefits include significantly faster removal compared to manual methods, ability to remove even stubborn, multi-layered wallpaper, and no need for scoring or chemicals. Some customers experienced issues with the steamer shutting off or not heating up properly, but overall the reviews were very positive, with many stating it exceeded their expectations.

It worked great for two weeks and then all of a sudden would not heat up at all. I made sure the cord was connected to the main unit and then re-plugged it in multiple times just in case the automatic shut-off was stuck. (The last time I used it, I turned it off with plenty of water left in the tank.) It has only shut off automatically twice before the failure. According to the Wagner rep I spoke to on the phone, using the automatic shut-off is bad for the unit. Will be taking it back and hope...

Saves a lot of time.
Would RecommendI bought this steamer to take wallpaper off of my 60+ year old home after trying numerous other techniques first. I wasn't expecting this steamer to do as good as it did. I just put the steam plate against the wall and started peeling and it just fell right off. I would recommend this steamer to anyone who has wallpaper to remove. It will make your life a lot easier when doing your home wallpaper removal projects.

Lifesaver!
Would RecommendWe bought a 40 year old condo with 3 layers of wallpaper in most rooms. This steamer tackled the removal without a problem. Works as well as the larger rental units and you don't have to hurry to return it. I would recommend this unit without hesitation.

Wagner Wallpaper Steamer
Would RecommendI hate removing old wallpaper and never used a steamer except once when I rented one and the thing leaked water considerably. A bad experience. I'm about halfway through my wallpaper removing project now and have been using this product. It's great. It takes the old wallpaper right off with not much effort. I have arthritis in my hands and I was concerned about gripping the attachment but because it's plastic and light it never became an issue. There are a couple of things to point out that I've...
Easiest tool for this purpose!
Would RecommendWe bought a 1955 home where every bedroom and bath had dated, loud print wallpaper. For the first two rooms, we struggled with DIF stripper and every hand tool, to score and scrape off the multiple layers. My daughter researched steamers, and this one had the best reviews on various web sites. We tried it today and, in less than 5 minutes it removed more wallpaper than we had previously been able to tackle in an hour or more - with no hand, wrist, elbow or shoulder strain at all! We highly recom...

Easy to Use
Would RecommendI had some wallpaper that was really resistant to coming off my wall. I'd tried the enzyme spray, scraping, even just warm water. Nothing worked well at all. However, this steamer made short work of it. After leaving the steamer plate against the wall for 10-15 seconds, I was able to scrape off that section easily. What had been taking days to do, I did in about an hour. It does take awhile to heat up at first and to cool down after it is unplugged. It does get very hot, so use caution.

Buy don't rent!
Would RecommendI rented a "professional" steamer at almost twice the price. I returned it and bought the Wagner 705. It works as well, if not better since it includes a smaller attachment for small spaces. Definitely recommend. Don't waste your money on a rental.

Absolutely FAB product!
Would RecommendThis steamer works exceptionally well. The hose from the water to the wand is long enough so that you don't have to keep moving it as you move to new sections. The length of the hose doesn't lessen the steam, which is constant and consistent. A few tips - using the smaller attachment actually goes faster than the larger one because it concentrates the steam more; for really tight spots, remove the attachment and just use the nozzle; if you put the hose down to scrape damp paper, put the end of t...
One super kettle
Would RecommendI needed something that would assist me in removing some stubborn pieces of multi-layered wallpaper on my inherited house, something that even Roman's Piranha remover struggled with. So I reviewed the Wagner power steamer and then bought one. This is essentially a one gallon capacity immersion heater, and it does take about 20 minutes to superheat the water for effective steam to be produced at the application head. It comes with two high density plastic composite heads, one for larger areas (11...

AMAZING
Would RecommendAfter spending 20+ hours, I only removed about a 4x5 foot area of wallpaper using hot water, fabric softener, scrapers and Dif. Out of frustration, I looked for another way to get this wallpaper off the bathroom wall. I picked up this unit at my local Lowe's. I am more than pleased. In the first few minutes I was able to remove a piece that would taken hours. It is hot steam. I am sweating - figure I can get a steam bath while working! An off switch would be nice. I fixed that by plugging it int...
High Value Wallpaper Steamer
Would RecommendI am removing wallpaper on three bathrooms. The Wagner Steamer works as advertised. Fill it with water and plug it in. In about 15 minutes you are in business. Hold the head on a particular spot for about 10 seconds and the wallpaper is ready to be removed. The Wagner provides a lot of steam and makes removing the paper relatively easy. The unit comes with both a large and small head which makes it easier to work both large and small wall areas. I did not even put any holes in the wallpaper and ...

does fantastic work
Would RecommendI had never before stripped wallpaper. I started off using the concentrate solution, scoring tool, and such. It was largely a headache and very unsuccessful. I picked one of these up and had the entire room done in a few hours. It is very simple to use and works very efficiently. I didn't even have to use the scoring tool and the paper came off in large sheets after steaming the areas for just a few seconds. A few things: the hose material is very thin, and so if you accidentally step on it or t...

Steamer works well
Would RecommendWhen we finally gave up on using liquid preps to remove wallpaper, we turned to this steamer, which was not our first. We found that it works quite well. All steamers are messy and you do need to be careful to avoid the steam and even hot water that may drip from the plate, but that's just common sense with a steamer. It's easy enough to fill, heats quickly enough, and the price is low. If you need to remove significant amounts of wallpaper, this is a good choice. Not for just a border, but for ...

Made my job a breeze
Would RecommendI am a professional painter, had a job with several rooms that needed wallpaper removed. I needed a steamer on short notice and searched online for one. This one had good reviews so for the price and my immediate need I thought it was worth a try. Once the steam built up it went through the wallpaper in no time. My wife stopped by to see how I was doing, she wanted to try the steamer on a section of the wallpaper. I couldn't get it away from her, she removed the paper from an entire room. The ta...

Makes job so easy!
Would RecommendSteamer works great. The trick is to remove the vinyl from the wall paper leaving only the paper backing stuck to wall. Then just apply steam and scrape. Very easy. Some wallpapers are just harder to remove than others. I haven't run into this but once and it was some kind of mural with string imbedded into the paper. It came off in small strips. I loan this steamer out often and they just love it. The only con is the water will run out of the steam box and down the wall onto the floor. Just thr...

Old Wallpaper is doomed
Would RecommendThis little contraption has worked on every situation I've used it on so far. On wallboard that has been directly papered over it goes a little slow and sometimes the wallpaper comes off with a little of the paper covering of the wallboard but just be careful . Its nothing a little drywall patch won't fix. Now on surfaces that were painted or primed before being wallpapered removal of the wallpaper goes a lot faster. Use a paper tiger or similar device to puncture the wallpaper so the steam can ...

makes removing wallpaper much easier!
Would RecommendRemoving wallpaper is not easy- chemicals were only slightly effective, i had a wallpaper self pasting that i applied 18 years ago, if i had only known how difficult it would be to remove.... This steamer made it so much easier and faster- it has a simple design, and gets extremely hot, which is what you need to get the job done, this is definitely worth the money.

The representative you spoke with is correct, the automatic shutoff is a safety function of the unit - not to be relied upon for turning the unit off....
