Wish I had tried this earlier!

Once hot, this little boiler produces constant steam. Be sure to keep a 5-gallon bucket handy, or you will not be able to keep up -- it melts the wallpaper off faster than I can scrape. It is easier for me to rest by placing the steamer end in the bucket. I did find that poking holes in the vinyl wallpaper helped get it started, but was not always necessary. Steaming a seam allowed me to pry a spackling knife between the wall and the wallpaper. This is soooo much faster than spraying or sponging...

Great product!

We were undertaking a demo and remodel of a 60-year-old home and knowing that we had multiple rooms to strip wallpaper, I didn't see the sense of renting a steamer that would run $25 per day. With that, we took a chance on the Wagner model 705 steamer and put it to work. Well we certainly did just that, starting with a kitchen that had one layer of wallpaper, then paint over that and two more layers of paper (seriously!), then a bedroom and a dining room and we must now have about 75 hours of op...

Time Saver

I've been a professional maintenance tech for 38 years and one of the things I've learned is that the correct tool can save you a lot of time and headaches, this steamer is one of those tools. I only had a small job to do and using the steamer I was done in less than an hour, if I never use it again it was still worth every penny.

Excellent steamer

I bought this to remove 2 rooms of wallpaper after I was quoted a price of $1500. It worked really well for one room but not as good on the old paper wallpaper that was 35 yrs. old.in the other room. All in all it was a realyy big help to us.

It was good while it lasted

Bought 705 steamer, steamed 2 tanks of water and went for third tank. In the tank there was still water left, but when i went to fill it I tilted unit 90 degrees to get my water from kitchen sink in the unit and when Cold water hit the heating element I guess it bursted some of its plating and element is no longer working.

And now, on to other applications

Incredible product. I took the paper off my bathroom walls in a short afternoon. I had tried chemical products and peeling it... but the steam took it right off with no damage to the drywall. Now I want to use the steamer for my primary reason for buying it... my wood-bending steam box. Makes a tough job easier!

To remove some wallpaper in our 1/2 bath, I started using a scoring tool then soaked the wallpaper with a solution of water and fabric softener. This worked ok but was very slow. It was more of a problem with the paper on the ceiling. Got the Wagner Wallpaper Steamer and wow what a difference. Worked Very Well

Initially used to remove a wall paper border around an 12' x 17' room. Was able to complete the removal in under 3 hours including the glue residue. Will plan to use on full wall papered walls in the future. Unit takes about 15 minutes to begin steaming. Does create water coming from the steam area so be prepared with some shop towels.

Only Way to Remove Wallpaper

I started to remove the wallpaper in my kitchen by hand because I thought a steamer was too expensive, until I found this Wagner steamer. It might not have the bells and whistles of more expensive models, but it does the job and does it well. Did 3/4 of my kitchen in a 1/4 of the time of removing the wallpaper by hand. The unit seems to be very well built and performed flawlessly. Now on to the bathroom.

Love It!

This is my new favorite tool. It made stripping 3 layers of wallpaper circa 50's, 60's and 70's a total breeze. Easy to use, I just steamed with one hand and then moved the steam head and used the other hand to scrape, took approx. 2 hours to strip an 11x11 bedroom with 3 layers of very ugly wallpaper.

Worth it so far ...

I'm putting this steamer to the test here. I've got five fairly good sized areas to remove some absolutely hideous wallpaper/borders from. So far I've managed one of the five areas and am starting down a hallway. So far, I've used this steamer for a non-consecutive eight to ten hours over the weekend. It performs fine. Well worth the money

This steamer works wonderfully to remove wallpaper without any scoring on your walls. Don't waste your money on the spray on products and scorers. This does the job efficiently and with way less effort.

Does the job

Purchased as a replacement for an old Black and Decker wallpaper steamer that finally wore out. This unit does the job well...however there is not a way to stop the steam unless you unplug the unit. Would be nice if there was a switch to pause - my old unit had one. I still prefer using steam instead of chemicals to remove wallpaper, but would like better control of steam - which is why I gave it 4 stars and only average for design.
