This is my second Wusthof classic knife and have a bit of time with them. I am not the most diligent at full sharpening and use a honing rod before every use and these knives hold their edge. Out of the box, they are super sharp, and well balanced.

I can't believe I suffered
I can't believe I suffered decades with an inferior knife. I used to partially freeze meat just to be able to cut it. This Wusthof knife cuts fresh meat with ease. And things like sweet potatoes too. If is lasts a lifetime it will be well worth the price.

8" fluted chef's knife
Can't say enough good about it! Beautifully crafted and perfect weight and balance for me. Handle is more friendly to my 80+ hands that the Global I am replacing. It and its little brother the 6" chefs knife I got previously are the first I reach for when I open the drawer. Absolutely love all of my Wustof knives.
