Just what we were hoping for

Looking to bring more light into a dark kitchen. Thought sun tunnels were the way to go but a little unsure of the outcome. After installation the sun tunnels exceeded our expectations and provide better lighting than we hoped for.

Love the light

We installed 5 sun tunnels about a year ago and have loved the light. In a previous house I had two of a competitor's models and I NEVER had any bugs get into the tube ( after 8 years). That's my only complaint about the Velux model..........we have had them cleaned and retaped twice since installation and they need it again! cracked base

I put 2 of these sky tunnels on a brand new house in Az last year and both of the bases have cracked letting a lot of rain in, have not tried to contact velux yet but no matter what they do this will require a lot of work on my part.

Good light, poor reveal

Had a new rigid tunnel installed along with roof a few weeks ago. The sun tunnel adds a much needed influx of natural light to my livingroom but as many other reviews note the diffuser ring inside looks very cheap and has screws visible through it. Most of the pictures I had seen before getting it showed a white trim ring that sits flush to the ceiling and covers all of the hardware underneath, this one is nothing but clear plastic that all of the mounting hardware is visible through and it sits...

I can see the light

I was in the dark until I had two sun tunnels installed last week.

Exactly what was needed.

I bought these over 12 years ago and am now specifiying them for a new build I am about to do for my employer. I installed the low profile in my home in a dark hallway and the middle of the kitchen. The first minute we installed them we loved them. We also love the moonlight that flows thru illuminating the kitchen and hall. An awesome buy!!!

What a difference

In the middle of a roof replacement decided to add a tunnel skylight. Our den was like a dungeon and now it is the brightest room in the entire house, without using electricity.

Great light without cost

We live in Jacksonville Florida had a family room that was dark because of a sunroom that we added got two 14" solar tubes best decision we made not only look great they gave us the light that we needed.

Different diffuser?

I had two rigid 14" sun tunnels added into my studio with the hope that light would flood the room. I have a Solatube in my interior stairway, and literally, the difference was like night and day. I'm hoping that if I switch out the diffuser, more light will come in, because right now, while it looks like a light is on when you look at the unit, none of that light really reaches into the room. Diappointed

We put a sun tunnel in around 12 years ago in our bathroom. Today my husband put one in our laundry room and I am very disappointed. The older one has a clear with diamonds cover and lots of light comes through and the new one has a white/opaque cover and does not have much light come through. Very disappointed.

Happy to have more natural light.

We had three sun tunnels installed by a five star installer. Cost of the project was just shy of $5000. Wish I would have investigated a bit more before proceeding. The trim rings allow you to see the four mounting screws. Called customer service and they said someting about white tape to cover the screws. The highest unit is about 15 feet in the air and has about 9 dead bugs in it. Thought these would have been sealed better. I have not removed them yet because now I need to buy a 12 foot step...

lots of welcome light

Our 14 inch Sun Tunnels(2) have just been installed, replacing skytubes from another manufacturer that had started to leak. As far we are very pleased and surprised how much more light is available through the VELUX. They brighten an area that receives very little outside light, no windows, and gives the room a different and more inviting look. We are looking forward to many years of bright and trouble-free service.

Shadow in Diffuser

I just installed Velux 10 in sun tunnel not understanding why there is a shadow inside the Diffuser. Not very happy with it. It was installed perfectly and diffuser looks like Marble on the inside.

Can't get over how much light I now have in my kitchen. We're finding ourselves looking for light switch when we leave the room!

Great light.........but.......

I had 5 Sun tunnel rigid and I love the light however....... ALL of the lenses have either cracked or warped :( . Then because they are warped the fall out of the trim rings. The contractor said he won't warranty them. Said I need to contact the company. Sad because I want to put something like this in another one of my properties but I might search for a different company. I feel like the lenses should last longer than 6 months. Great idea .........bad materials.

Condensation

Having issues of condensation on two 14 inch Sun Tunnels. What is the remedy for this situation?
