What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise sun tunnels for transforming dark, windowless spaces with abundant natural light, with many reporting they no longer need artificial lighting during daytime hours. Reviewers describe hallways becoming bright and welcoming, kitchens and bathrooms feeling spa-like and open. Many customers installed additional units after their first success. Some report installation challenges with flashing kits and weak magnetic diffuser trim rings, while others note maintenance difficulties with dead insects and condensation buildup inside tubes. A few experienced cracked components or water intrusion. Despite these isolated concerns, most consider sun tunnels a worthwhile home improvement.

I have had these sun tunnels for 9 years; I love the sun in my dark kitchen and hallway, but they are a pain to take apart, clean, and put back together! Bugs gather inside the tunnels, visible from below, and unsightly. Taking the frame off (twisting it) and replacing it is a nightmare. The design is ridiculous. There must be a better way to take these apart and replace (magnets, perhaps?) I need advice on how to update these or replace them. I would not recommend them as they are. I wou...

Cold Weather Climate - ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!
Adds a great amount of light, that part is accurate. If you live in a cold weather climate, DO NOT install one of these! Even if you properly integrate the interior end of the tube and seal the vapor barrier and tube application (Which directions do not call for by the way) you will have a small fish bowl in your ceiling due to condensation. The two cheap, thin, pieces of plastic that terminate the tube on the interior, do not prevent the transfer of conditioned air into the tube. Once it meets ...

Hello. I have a sun tunnel skylight. It is lovely during the day, but at night I wish it was very dark. How could I and what could I cover this device with and during the day take it down? Thank you.

Great love it
About a year ago we had the Sun Tunnel installed and love it. Unfortunately, last week we needed to replace the entire roof and the diffuser was lost during reinstalling the tunnel. Can someone tell me how and where I can get another 10 inch diffuser?
From veluxusa.com
Replacement parts can be purchased from a local VELUX dealer or you can reach out directly to VELUX customer service at 800-888-3589. Thank you.
Highly Recommend
Yes. Had one installed in my foyer coming in from the garage. An area with very little windows. Unreal how much light it gives off.

Don't turn the bottom ring more than you have to.
This has been installed for about six years now. Getting the bottom ring aligned with the three tabs is a bit of hunt and peck. Perhaps due to the home aging, ours got jammed and you can't see the alignment. I finally removed it with a little silicone spray and put tiny Sharpie marks on the edges and ceiling to show me when the tabs are aligned for removal. And you don't need to turn them more than a few degrees to secure it. Don't over-rotate! The light is great. Its like having a 200 watt b...

Best purchase we’ve ever made.
We bought this 4 years ago for a bathroom without a window. It’s the best purchase we’ve ever made. When someone goes in the bathroom they are always looking for the switch to turn the ‘light’ off.
