Never purchase again

I bought this product once from Lowe's and it didn't work. I exchanged it and it didn't work. I got my money back and bought one from Home Depot and it didn't work either.

product is a lemon

I wish I had read the reviews online before buying.. purchased 2 sockets, installed in the garage, 8 ft tall ceiling. They only turn on if I climb on a chair or ladder and wave my hands at a maximum 3-4 inches in front of the plastic windows. This happens with both units, so a random defect is excluded.

Good idea, poor product

I bought this device for a walkin closet so that the light would come on when we open the door and enter the closet. It seldom works right. Sometimes the light comes on right away, other times you move around, wave your arms and still the light does not come on.

Lasted two days

Definitely not worth the $25 i paid for it. It was a more expensive model, but after two days, just stopped working. This will be returned, and i'll try a different model.

Found something better.....

I bought this product and wanted to take it back right away, but decided to give it a second try. It works about 75% of the time. Like some of the other posters I find myself, when the light does come on, waving my arms frantically in the garage. Most of the time it turns right on but sometimes not. I found another product that works wayyyyy better put out by First Alert.

under the right usage...yes

I wanted to use this at the top of a stairway. Apparently the sensor not only works at a 180 perimeter but on a 180 plane. It would not activate till I was at the top of the stair and in line with it. If I held my hand up above my head it would activate sooner. Same as I walked up the stairs with a broom...soon as the broom was in the same line it turned the light on.

Good Product

Just purchased this product so have not had but a few days now. So far no complaints. Purchased for my garage door opener. I looked online to just replacing the garage door opener and reconnecting it, but the price was more than I wanted to shell out just to have light in my garage entering and exiting. 360-Degree Indoor Motion-Activated Light Control

The idea behind the product is a good one. We had hoped to use it to turn the ceiling light at the top of the stairs to the basement into a motion activated light. It did not work for us, even if you stepped onto the landing and waved your arms around. Maybe it was just the location, or the height of the light (around 7 feet high).

DO NOT WAIST YOUR $$$

I had to purchase two of these because the first one I bought would not work and I tried it on multiple outlets in my house. Then I return that one and got another one only to bring it home and have the same problem. These do not work at all so don't waste your money. Even as easy and convenient as they look.

This didn't help us

We bought this for the hallway at the top of our stairs. While it says it works 20 feet away, it does not work for 20 feet below...only 20 feet to the side. We have to be at the very top of the stairs before it comes on, even then my son has walked all the way upstairs, under the light, to his room and back downstairs without the light coming on.

Mistake

I've tried the unit both in the garage and in a hallway closet. The motion sensor turned on the light less than 25% of the time. I would not buy this one again.

Works, but not every time.

I bought this for my garage as the light fixture in the garage door opener died. I have it in a traditional light fixture, but it doesn't always come on like I would like it to. If I'm standing beneath it and wave my arms up it doesn't come on, but stand back a bit then it will come on. I would like it to come on when the garage door opens. I may try adding a dark piece of paper to the back of the garage door to see if it will pick that motion up then.

Didn't work

I bought the fixture to use inside a pantry, because I kept leaving the light on accidentally. I thought that a motion activated light would work. I followed the instructions, screwing the light control fixture into the socket, then put a light bulb in it and turned on the switch. The light came on as promised and advised it would go off in 10 minutes. Thirty minutes later the light was still on, so I went through the procedure again .... the light would never shut off. I should have trusted the reviews

I read the negative reviews but made the mistake of not trusting them and bought this any way. Waste of time and money! Didn't work for my garage overhead light. I tried everything: repositioning it, changing the bulb, cleaning it. Nothing worked. It would go off by itself after 10 minutes but I could do nothing to make it come on with motion. Even up on a ladder, right in front of it it would not sense motion and turn on.

Best product purchased for my need.

Store employee was very helpful in suggesting this item for adding light to an area, especially at night..

so much for being a sensor!

Bought this item to hopefully bring and end to a dark garage.easy to install; turns on great with switch and turns off automatically after ten minutes .the only issue and biggest issue for me is that it does not sense when someone is walking near the sensor. For that issue I will return the item .
