Did not work, ended up returning them

I bought these but they did not work when I installed to existing light fixture. I ended up returning them and bought the GE LED lights which worked fine. My guess is the utilitec LED lights are not compatible with the ballast but the installation directions were not clear about this.

Unreliable

I installed two new LED fixtures in my garage. These bulbs would only turn on fully about 1/4 the time. Seemed to be worse when it was colder. I replaced them with Phillips, which worked perfectly every time. Avoid them! Might be OK inside?

Terrible

Bought 4 of these lights. Worked great for about 2 minutes then all 4 quit working. Tried them in another fixture and same thing. JUNK

Did not work in a newer light fixture

Works only with certain florescent light fixture ballast and it states that will work with newer ballast. The light fixture was a few years old, and should be considered newer. Only compatible with select electronic ballast

Did not work with my modern electronic ballast fixtures. According to the box it was supposed to work with "most electronic ballast". There is a list inside the instructions of compatible ballasts and it can hardly be considered "most". I did not find this list on the product detail page, would have been helpful before ordering. If your considering this product, I suggest you open up your light fixture and find the ballast model number and cross reference this list. It's a hassle but will save y...

Wonderful with electronic ballasts

The winter cold finally did in 3 of the 10 T8 32 watt bulbs in our garage. I replaced 2 of them with brand new T8 bulbs and noticed the difference between old and new bulbs from a lumens standpoint. I then decided to try some of these LED bulbs. The difference is astonishing between the LED and the fluorescent bulbs. Too yellow and brittle

The first tube cracked as I installed it. The second was too yellow. I don't believe the color temperature matched what was on the box.

Utilitech 4-Pack 32W Equivalent T8 LED

Did not work with my Ballast with 4 new tubes in the my 4 lamp fixture. "However if you need your light to work now" and as long as two of the old fluorescent tubes work, this will complete the circuit for the ballast and two of the new led tubes will work along aside of the two fluorescent tubes.

These bulbs really brightened my garage. I replaced my florescent bulbs with these LEDs. Huge difference!

Much better light output than a normal T8 bulb.

These bulbs are an excellent value. They are very bright when compared to a standard T8 bulb, yet they only use a fraction of the electricity. Do not attempt to use these T8 replacement bulbs in a T12 fixture. If you use them in a T12 fixture, you will destroy this bulb.

4ft LED bulbs

I used this in a regular 4 foot fixture works perfectly. the light is brighter than a regular tube. it cost less than a regular bulb. one thing of note there is a top and a bottom side. looks prettiest with the LED strip on top.

Great LED, great price

Lot of misleading and outright bad information out there about ballast compatibility with LED lights. No LED works with all ballast. Some LED are designed to work with old ballast types, these are not. These will not work with any T12 ballast. If your lights HUM, that's the ballast. Using LED bulb will not eliminate that hum. After much research, I replaced my ballast with the GE T8 ballast (sold by Lowes). Easy swap out. Wire cutters / strippers and a few orange wire nuts is all you need....

32W Equivalent Bright White T8 LED Tube Light Bul

Didn't work with my old style fluorescent fixtures. On closer inspection they only work with the newer style electronic fixtures. Would have been nice if they would have worked.

These are Nice - but you do need a ballast

Bought a box of these today. None would work at 120V RMS (direct wire). So I tried each one with a (cheap) modern ballast and they all work fine. I measured the voltage end-to-end. It looks like they need at least 170 Volts (RMS) and the cheap ballast easily provides that.

Nice "Day" Light!

These are fantastic bulbs for the price and put out a very nice daylight hue! The only reason I gave them a 4 star is they "only" work if you have electronic ballasts. I tried connecting them multiple ways directly wired including single ended, dual ended, with shunted tombstones and non-shunted, etc. and they would not work correctly. Finally hooked up with new electronic ballast and non-shunted tombstones and the lights were very bright and the daylight was great. Love the light it puts out. S...
