What Customers Are Saying
The Electric Start Drill Bit is a convenient tool that reliably starts gas-powered lawn and garden equipment with just a few turns of a power drill. Customers report it saves them from the strain of repeatedly pulling a starter cord, especially those with physical limitations. Most reviews highlight the product's quick and reliable performance in starting trimmers, blowers, edgers, and other small engines. However, some users have experienced durability issues, with the bit breaking after a few months of use.

Works like it should!
Would RecommendI got this so I could use the option on my trimmer. Starts just fine with the electric cordless drill and this special bit. I love it!!! The price was in line with all the other purchase prices out there. I love Lowe's locker delivery system.
electric start drill bit for weed Wacker
Would RecommendI finally got this little tool and it works great. I do not need to pull start any more.
quick starter for weedeater
Would RecommendJust put in a drill pull the trigger and go. No more blisters!
The shaft is too short and too large to fit my cultivator!
Starter bit
Would RecommendConvenient little bit. Works great. I put on my power drill, inserted it in the start port. And with a squeeze of the trigger my edger started right up. No more pulling.
sweet tool
Would RecommendI purchased this for my new craftsman 4 cycle weed eater. it takes the work out of starting a small engine if you have bad shoulders like me.
Have Drill Handy
Would RecommendUnless you are doing a small job where you will only need to start the trimmer once or twice, its probably will be of little value. The cost is reasonable, but unless you van easily reach a drill, then its best to use the pull starter.
Defective
Would Not RecommendI bought this yesterday and as soon as I engaged the drill it sheered right off in my troy built weed-eater electric start port. I was never even able to see if it worked. In my opinion it was absolute garbage and now I have more problems than I started with.
Simple and effective
Would RecommendEasy to use and very efficient. Does what you expect
Helped with my Troy Bilt 4-cycle
Would RecommendI have a Troy Bilt 4-cycle TB685 EC that was a pain in the butt to start. After using a tank and refueling it wouldn't start. This helped solve that problem. Highly recommend.
They do not last.
Would Not RecommendI rarely write reviews but this item deserves one. I originally purchased this because the pull-string on my Craftsman 30cc weed eater broke after only a few months. I saw this as an alternate starting method and purchased one. I've now gone through two of these. Each time they'd work great for a couple months and then break. The first one had its inner teeth break/grind and now the bit just spins freely. The second one ended up completely seizing up. I didn't recognize it beforehand and it actu...
garbage
Would Not RecommendSeized up after only three starts. Don’t waste your money on this garbage.
Perfect
Would RecommendWorks great on my Troy-Bilt Jump Start Trimmer. I have 13 acres to trim but found it is easier to just start it by hand instead of carrying my drill around too. I mostly use it when I'm doing work close to the cabin and barn which is trimmed more often than the outlying areas. One word of caution though, your drill must have sufficient speed for this to work. Not sure of the exact speed required but guessing it's around 2100 RPM. One of my drills will not turn fast enough to start. Otherwise the...
Saved my trimmer / Great for carb adjustment.
Would RecommendSuch a pleasure to use! Replaced carb and new fuel lines on my troybilt trimmer. While adjusting new carb, I pulled the pull string to exhaustion. This drill bit zipped the engine up and saved me further pulling. Now it idles steadily and runs like a top. I was a few more attempts from discarding the trimmer.
