This is a great log splitter period. It went thru some old oak rounds that I had with ease. Plenty of power and quick and easy to use.

Tough Unit!

I couldn't get my 4 wheeler to start to get it where I wanted it, but I was able to move this myself (a little grade). It started with one pull...by my 10 year old! I used it mostly in the vertical position as I had some big logs from some trees we cut last year. I've only had this splitter for a week, but it shows no sign of slowing during a full day of splitting wood (except for refilling the fuel). Time will tell, but so far so good...

Great buy

My wife and I just moved into a house that has a wood burner, and we needed something to split the wood smaller and this splitter has been awesome, we have split 4 truck loads of wood with ease with this splitter, don't know what we would have done without it.

Hard working machine

Bought this splitter 1 week ago, have split about 4 cords of oak, beech, and ash all starting out at 24 to 30 inch diameter. Have no real complaints but feel engine could be a little more protected & log cradle could be a little stronger, be careful of the one on return hydraulic line side it could shear the line if bent down.

Should have bought sooner

Works Great got it at Lowes sept.28th used several times . Easy to use splits anything we put in it Oak, pecan . Wish we would have got it sooner we have been had splitting the last five years and it took forever to get it split I used to hate splitting wood now I love splitting wood I could do it all day ! It also starts on the first pull .

Have only split about a cord of wood so far but they were sizable logs. Motor starts very easy. Highly recommend! This machine is very easy to use.

LOVE IT!

Spent alot of time reviewing other wood splitters before pulling the trigger on the troy built. Glad a bought it. I could have bought other 22 ton units with Briggs engine but after reading the reviews i saw they seemed to have problems starting. Not the Honda. Started on the 2nd pull. The other units I looked at needed assembly. The reviews all said to plan for 1/2 day. At lowes I just hooked up to it went home. Lovely. I can't imagine needing anything bigger than this. Lowes Does It Again

We live in the (6,200 ft) mountains and use 5-6 cords of (pine) wood to supplement heating our home. Did a lot of research prior to purchasing the Troy-Bilt 27-Ton Gas Log Splitter from Lowe's. Starts easily

I have had mine for about 14 months, and split around 8 cords of mostly oak. It has started on the first pull every time, even after spending ten months in storage. We looked all over for a splitter that was not made in China before we found this Troy Bilt. Real solid product.

Makes wood season a snap!

Although I'm new to the wood cutting business, this splitter makes life easy. I need about 6 to 8 cords of wood and this sure saves time. I did my research before buying and many people gave it great reviews. The only issue I've had is that I noticed a bolt head holding the side bracket by the splitter was sheared off. Just what I needed

The staff at the Lowe's in Brewer, ME helped me with the on-line purchase, which was not going well. They held my order until I could come pick it up. Then, four men lifted it into my 5 x 10 foot trailer for transport. The splitter is easy to operate, the fluids were correctly filled and the Honda engine is very easy to start. The safety and the operating instructions are clear and thorough. I like the Troy Built splitter very much.

Absolute Beast: Powers thru anything I throw at it

Excellent Wood Splitter. Powered through all different types of wood and all different sizes (up to about 30 inches in diameter). Even chewed through some extremely knotty stuff that would have been impossible to split by hand.
