The log splitter worked great.

This 27 ton Troy Built log splitter has all the power anyone should need. I split up 2 foot diameter logs, some with knots and it busted it with ease. Love the Honda engine. Starts up first pull. I would highly recommend this product.

First one, problems...we'll see about the 2nd.

Recently purchased the Troy-bilt log splitter...I got through 1 gas tank just fine and then halfway through the second it stopped splitting. The ram would move but once it hit the wood it had no power to go through. Checked the hydro levels, fine. Hoses, no leaks and tight. Everything looked just fine but no luck. So I just took it back and exchanged for a new one. Hopefully the second one won't be a problem. Other than the problem above, the splitter seems good. The ram speed return is not pro...

Decent Consumer Beware Quality Control

After using a commercial grade splitter for the past two years I can say this machine is not bad but there is a definite difference. Smaller size allows for easier storage and mobility. Honda engine is a plus, but has a very small gas tank. Only holds 1/4 gallon for about 1 hour worth of work. Frame setup is a little lower than I like. Dropped the ball

I like Lowes if you ever have a problem they will usually make it right. I purchased the log splitter in 2010 for residential use. Liike most things I own I take good care of all my equipment. There is a a safety recall on this splitter. I do not use this splitter real often but it developed an problem with the return cycle the control valve sticks and will not kick out when hitting the stop. The real problem I did not find out from Lowes that there was a safety recall. I only have about 20 hour...

Splitter Base Spot welded

We used this splitter 15 minutes and it failed. Inspection yielded the opposite end of the wedge the base was only spot welded in 6 small locations and became detached under load. Photos show a bead weld so either they cheapened it up or there was a serious break down in QC control?

Couldn't get it started at first.

I bought this at Lowe's on sale and love it so far. I did have a difficult time getting it started after I took it home.I had to get a can of starter fluid and keep spraying it (sparingly) for about 10 seconds before it would stay running on it's own. I thought there was an issue but now I suspect there was something they put into it for storage/shipping. I had fresh gas and it was a warm day. Great piece of equipment.

The splitter is awesome. Had a couple of hydraulic leeks upon start up . But easy fix . Loose fittings. The .3 gallon fuel tank sounds small but runs forever !! Very powerful no matter the size of log. Lowes was great , in and out in 15 minutes.

27 ton log splitter

Bought because it had so many reviews. 5 star even. Later on I put on the review setting to see reviews from lowest to bestest. Saw that all the low star ratings had the same problem mine had. Hydraulics on the handle leaked. causing the splitter to stop working. it did however work extremely well. until it stopped working at all. the Honda motor started very easily with the easy start. the frame was built for longer pieces of wood. I would have given the splitter five stars had it lasted longer...

Splits Everything So Far

This log splitter seems to be a good one. It has a Honda motor which is most important. The only things I can find that I don't like so much are that it has a lot of tongue weight with the mast in transport position, and it has a small fuel tank. The tongue weight takes a little more effort than I like to hitch and un hitch, and I have to re-fuel often. The often refuels cause me to take more breaks than I ordinarily would, and that is not a bad thing. Bought it still in the crate. Put it togeth...

I purchased this product via internet. Not even an hour later I recvd a call from the store stating they had the product ready for pickup. It has a Honda motor and i know the motors durable for the amount of wood I need to split.

Troy Built 27 ton gas powered log splitter

We bought ours at the end of the season and got one that had its motor replaced - apparently the original purchaser had run the motor without oil - don't do that. So we got $300 off, basically allowing us to afford an upgrade to this model. It's big. It's powerful. I've used it to split logs that are 36" around and 28" thick and it handled the load without any problem at all. Worth every penny!

This splitter is strong, powerful and simple to start. I have never pulled the cord more than twice to get it going. Works great vertical or horizontal. Handles wood wet or dry. If you are looking for a quality splitter this is it.

Great machine!

Great machine! Honda engine cranked on the first pull. Split logs 25 inches long and 18 inches wide with no problem. Great purchase at a sale price.

Poweful Splitter

If you have a need to splitt wood this is the product to have. Bought in February in North East and have used it 3 to 4 times and has started right up in this very cold winter we've have and it's been left outside with just a cover on it. Love this product.

Great Wood Splitter and Great Price!

Very comparable to the commercial ones that you can rent at the box stores. Runs excellent, I can start it first pull every time (I'm a woman) which I can not do with all of my husbands various machines. This one is fun because it is so easy to start and use.
