What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this fairing compound for exceptional sanding performance and ease of use. Most highlight how effortlessly it sands without pinholes, feathers smoothly, and produces flawless surfaces ready for paint. Many appreciate the convenient 1:1 mixing ratio and butter-like spreadability, with even first-time users reporting success. Reviewers consistently note it eliminates hours of difficult sanding compared to alternatives. A few mention packaging challenges or application limitations, but these concerns are vastly outweighed by strong satisfaction and repeat purchase intent across the customer base.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like Total Boat. And I've purchase Total Fair before, last year and didn't have a problem, this time the hardener seems old and chunky, like it's been drying out or this was the last batch sitting on the shelf and I got it. I was able to mix it together with part A but it's a pain. I think they are having problems with their supplies as I am also unable to get 2 part epoxy primer. They say they are having supply and manufacturing issues and d...

I keep some in the shop all the time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my favorite fairing. The fairing is creamy, but the catalyst is almost like dry spackling. mixes well and goes on with very few pinholes. Easy to mix.

Camper build
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Building a square drop camper and using the product to seal gaps and cover screw holes before I start fiberglassing the outside. Seems to set fast and hard and is easily sanded down. Art

Maybe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] New hardner is much harder to us. Its grainier texture makes it much more difficult to mix and you have to use more of the resin and therefore you are left with a significant amount of hardner and no more resin.

Good product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Total Fair to fill over some areas where I sanded off some or all of the gelcoat and also on some more structural repairs on a 1964 boston whaler 13'. The fairing compound mixes very easily, spreads smoothly, and is much easier to sand than epoxy with a more structural filler. I started sanding with 150 grit and worked to 320 grit. I'm not finished yet but the three places that have been sanded have turned out great.

Would Not RecommendI built a forward cabin on my boat out of coosa board and 1708 fiberglass laminated with polyester resin. I used this fairing compound because it is supposed to work on poly layups. A month after finish painting my boat the fairing compound has blistered everywhere on the cabin. It does not bond to polyester resin! I build surfboards for a living and understand laminating and resins very well. This was NOT user error!! I now have to sand all the paint off and fairing compound and redo the whole ...

Hardens like rock
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent fairing compound. A bit harder than expected (hard to sand). My first time using it, so likely my fault

Extremely good stuff
Would Recommendhangs better than west with 410, even when upsidedown and warm. much easier to make up a batch. slightly more flexible in the end. Color contrast is very useful in mixing and later fairing. Decent open time at 80F application temp starting with containers somewhat cooler from 65F nightime temps.
