What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise this fairing compound for exceptional sanding performance and ease of use. Most highlight how effortlessly it sands without pinholes, feathers smoothly, and produces flawless surfaces ready for paint. Many appreciate the convenient 1:1 mixing ratio and butter-like spreadability, with even first-time users reporting success. Reviewers consistently note it eliminates hours of difficult sanding compared to alternatives. A few mention packaging challenges or application limitations, but these concerns are vastly outweighed by strong satisfaction and repeat purchase intent across the customer base.

I will buy this product again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided to try Total Fair after numerous personal and YouTube recommendations because we have lots of small fairing projects on our boat. We wanted something that was simple to mix into any small or larger amount required, easy to apply and sand, no issues with amine blush and consistent every time. Plus the bonus of being more economical that what we were previously using!

Smooth and easy to use but it smells like dead fish

I really like this product. A gallon of epoxy and q-cell doesn't cost me less than a gallon of this anyway. Spreads nicely, holds a vertical surface, sands beautifully (80/120)

I used this with the sculpture piece I created. It filled a ton of my little flaws and sanded out well. Super happy and looking at doing other projects using all of the Totalboat products. Herktimus Prime is part of the University of Iowa Herky on Parade.

Works pretty well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm restoring/modifying a 60 year old Penguin sailing dinghy and am using the Total fair to fix gel coat scratches and spider cracks as well as fairing in new fiberglass work. I works well and is easy to sand, The blue contents has turned green on top and seems to have some particles that make spreading thin layers a little difficult because they create scratches while spreading but are only a small annoyance. Possibly received and old kit? I w...

Hands down the best fairing compound I've used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm nearing the end of a very large refit of our sailboat and am now into my third batch of Total Fair....what can I say...I LOVE this stuff. It mixes well, but just be sure there are NO spots that go on "un-mixed". (user error on this one...but worth mentioning) Spots that are small or large are just easier to fair out and the results are very satisfying. Once dry it sands easily. I consider my time to be my most valuable asset and Total Fair ...

Are there Supplier issues?

Would Not Recommend

The last 3 times I've purchased this, the "blue" comes and it's hard and green. As a result it is difficult to mix, thereby removing a big chunk of ease of use from this product. This hard stuff is awful to remove from the jug and more awful to try to completely mix. For the cost, this is not a good purchase for me

Difficult to mix

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The blue portion of the mix was hard and difficult to mix with the other portion of the mix. I have had this happen before when I ordered the product from Jamestown and thought if I ordered it directly from Total boat it would be a more consistent mix. I have seen this product used in several videos and this is not how it should look,

Probably not.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like Total Boat. And I've purchase Total Fair before, last year and didn't have a problem, this time the hardener seems old and chunky, like it's been drying out or this was the last batch sitting on the shelf and I got it. I was able to mix it together with part A but it's a pain. I think they are having problems with their supplies as I am also unable to get 2 part epoxy primer. They say they are having supply and manufacturing issues and d...
