The directions for this deck box were poorly written and illustrated. It took much longer to assemble than stated. Suncast has a good video available, which we found ourselves that further details the assembly and easier to understand. This should be printed on the instructions for the consumer to refer to. Otherwise the deck box is fine for the purpose we will use it for. Had one previously at another home, used for 7 years and never leaked even when fully exposed to three seasons of weather.

Great size but doesn’t close tightly and has a few small openings after put together where critters can get in. Otherwise it’s great.

Not worth the money

I can't even attach the top lid because the final bolts don't have enough room where they are to fit the nuts around them to hold them in place. I'm not even sure how to fix this because the hole is there and I can't make a new one because there's not enough room. I also don't see how these are waterproof. If I could attach the top, there's still like a half inch vertical gap in the back where if the wind and rain were going, some rain would get inside. Or if a kid was playing with a hose and ai...

This is a great deck box with a lot of space in it

Nice size, very sturdy, and attractive. The worst part was trying to figure out the mechanism to open and close the lid.

Need MIT degree to assemble

The deck box is attractive, sturdy, and large. The first five piece of snap together with ease, you think you’ll have it done in 15 minutes, and then comes the swearing and throwing things phase. Assembling and attaching the hinges is tedious and trying, but the finished product is exactly what we needed

Cheap Hardware-Warranty is a Joke

I purchased this deck box 3 years ago. The hinges that connect the lid to the box and hydraulic arm both broke. Also, the metal bar and locking piece that runs under the lid has popped off of the lid in 2 places (screws popped out of the plastic, bar is warping). I contacted Suncast for a warranty repair or replacement and apparently because I live in Florida they will not cover hinges, etc because outside elements are the cause of the problem. Isn't this supposed to be designed to be put OU...

Not the size advertised

We purchased this from our local store to fit a specific cushion based on the measurements listed here and on the box. Halfway through building it, we noticed that it is a full 2 inches narrower than the 28" advertised, and our cushions did not fit. We will be returning it.

Screw holes too small

The screw holes on the hinges are definitely too small for the "AA" screws that are supposed to attach them to the lid. I'm hoping Lowe's can give me slightly smaller screws, and that those will be strong enough to keep the hinges attached.
