My go to grass seed

I needed to take care of some bare spots, primarily in shaded areas, and do some overseeding. I have used two major brands in the past (They start with letters S and P) and were not particularly happy with the results. I used a spreader to apply the seed. I raked the bare areas and the soil was already damp. With just the moisture from the heavy morning dew, and a little bit of rain, a lot of seed is sprouting. Grows fast

This grass seed grew in fast and thick with no weeds.

Poor germination

I’ve used much less expensive seed with much better germination. Despite daily deep watering only about 20% had germinated in sunny spots after 3 weeks. It did somewhat better in shade but germination was still not nearly 100%. Heat tolerance in what did germinate was poor. I would not recommend this brand

Works Great

My backyard is all pine trees with limited sun and is more sand than dirt. Put it down on Sunday and by Friday the grass started to grow. At 10 days now and I might be able to mow it in another few days. Will buy again without hesitation.

Slow but nice grass

Grass seed has coating to help it grow. A bit slow at growing, but the grass looks so nice once grown

Started Over

Lawn care from previous owners was not a priority of theirs. Came to Lowes with intentions of starting over from scratch. An employee from Lowes recommended sun and shade mixture grass seed and choose Sta-Green by chance. Had the lawn ripped up and sprinkled Sta Green grass seed with recommended watering and waited. Within the 2 week mark had grass growing.

I always use for bare spots and am never disappointed. Minimal ground prep required; however, I usually water once a day for best results. I sometimes use for overseeing in the spring.

The seed took and grew within a week within lots of water. On its way to helping my back yard!

I planted this seed in top soil as directed, watered daily except when it rained and it grew within a week. Very happy with it's performance.

Grass seed that grows

Seed takes several week to start sprouting up in dense shaded area. I have tried many other brands. It looks like Sta-Green seems to be a little better than all of them. Hopefully the grass that comes up will stay and come up next year, the other haven’t come back. Thus only time can Tell.
