Saves space and time

As you would expect from a quality tester it has no problem finding the hot 120 or 240 volt lines and it saves me space on my belt because I don't have to lug around a meter for those 28 volt dc doorbell or thermostat lines. Saves me time in that I now don't have to strip the doorbell wires and thermostat wires then hold a meter in one hand and the probes in the other hand while balancing ...

GREAT LITTLE TESTER!

Small enough to carry on your person - it's always handy when you need to check for live parts. Flash light is a valuable feature - just wish it had a click on / click off feature so the button doesn't need to be continually pressed. Love the 2 voltage settings, great for control work. A must have for every electrician and maintenance engineer.

Missing Silent Operation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall this product is very good. I've tested it on Cat 5 cable as well as appliance cords, and it picks up voltage in both instances. Unfortunately it does not have a silent operation mode, which means annoying beeping no matter what. The other drawback is the flashlight is facing the opposite direction of the testing lead. 2 big bummers, but overall it's well built and seems to work just fine.

PROS: It was easy to install the batteries and get it running. The indicator lights and large flashlight are bright and the beeper is loud. It functioned as expected with varying voltage levels. Grate tool to start with

Very good product!

This is a well-built product! The sensitivity and ability to use dual ranges enables me to work more productively with the low-voltage range that a lot of my work products use, without damaging wires in the process. The light is a welcome addition, also!

great features!

It has visual as well as audible and swithes if you have it in the wrong setting. And it also has a led flash light in the end.

Awesome Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This can be used for 24 volts and up. While working on air conditioners i can check for 24 volts on the coil and power coming in coming in quickly. If it detects 24 to 100 volts it beeps slowly and 100 to 600 volts it beeps rapidly. Has a bright light at the end for looking into dark spaces. Pocket clip allows you to keep it from falling into your tool bag or pocket.

Dual range feature is fantastic

I have used it to troubleshoot doorbell issues and I used it to detect low voltage on my heating system with the thermostat and with the relays on the electric heat. Use it to find live circuits on equipment it also detects down to 24v works great when working with low voltage to. Love the led light feature on end of tool it is turned on separately from tester part of tool so when you need to see something real quick you can hit light button and turns led on real quick.
