What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the kit for straightforward instructions and quick testing, with many appreciating the 40 included capsules and value. The pH test earns consistent praise for accuracy and reliability, with results matching lab confirmations. However, significant concerns dominate: nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus tests frequently fail to produce color changes or give misleading results, even with known nutrients added. Many report capsules are hard to open, powder spills easily, and narrow test tubes are difficult to pour into. Despite ease-of-use appeal, most view it as a basic pH tool only, with the NPK functions unreliable.

Quick test method to verify obvouis!
Would RecommendI got into gardening this year, wanted to get my garden rocking. First wanted to test the soil. only pH worked. Other tests provided no results. tried many time and followed the instructions. after awhile it just tested potting soil and it responded. the problem was obvouis, my soil lacked any detectable N/P/K in it and test wants high amount to detect. Fertilzer is required every 2 months and we never did it. So not alot of N/P/K. the reason why Ph works as it will always have a number on the 1...
A little more research could've saved my money
Would Not RecommendAfter a handful of years with mixed results growing many different plants I finally decided it was time to look more in depth to my substrates rather than relying on labels, community results, and straight up guessing. This kit seemed like it'd be the solution for me as I prepare to locate prime growing locations for 50 new tree seedlings onto my property in Upstate New York. My gripe with this product starts with the marketing as "40 Tests" in large lettering on the front of the package. Stupid...
pH test worked as expected, other 3 did not.
Would Not RecommendI am having issues with my lawn and plan on putting sod down this month. I wanted to be certain that the soil is not an issue. I followed the test kit instructions carefully but found that the Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium results were useless. I may try again and let the soil sample "brew" overnight instead of the 30 minutes. I am disappointed as I was hoping to find some helpful information.
You get what you pay for. Invest in the best.
I would have preferred a digital unit. This kit is kind of a hassle for me.

used for hay field...and it paid off
Would Recommendmy hay field got worse year after year ... so I used this kit . well the issues were clear .. low potash and phosphorus.. so I added both but but not heavy ( too much is just as bad ) and it really worked , especially on the second cutting. So now every year I check my soil with this kit , as expensive as fertilizer as now you are crazy not to test your soil.
Capsule don't come apart.
Would RecommendThe kit is relatively easy to use. I found it impossible to open the capsules by just pulling the capsule apart. I used scissors to snip the end of the capsules to get the chemicals out.

DOES NOT SUCCULENTS ON LIST
Would Not RecommendI bought this in or near the succulents. I asked for a test kit specifically for my succulent plants. Since it says plants and flowers I of course figured there would be succulents listed in the paper full of different types of ALL plants. not 1 name was for a succulent.
that's it above
It was mostly accurate. It said every thing was low to very low. it just did not give me any idea how low was low. My soil test sample said same thing but it gave actual numbers and recommendations.

Falls apart
Would Not RecommendI used this twice. Both times I received conflicting results within inches of the same location. The second time I just this, the probe pulled out and tore loose the wires.
Suspect results after nitrogen failure
Would Not RecommendDo not waste your money. Failure of the nitrogen test to detect any nitrogen invalidates all tests using the capsules. Do not buy!
