What Customers Are Saying
The BrassCraft valve stem replacement kit is an effective and easy-to-use solution for fixing leaky or stuck multi-turn shutoff valves. The kit allows users to quickly and easily replace the faulty valve stem without having to replace the entire valve fixture. Key benefits include simple installation, ability to stop internal and external leaks, affordability compared to replacing the whole valve, and the option to turn off water supply to a specific fixture. While a few customers noted the included rubber washer was not the right size, the overall consensus is that this is a reliable and cost-effective DIY solution for common plumbing issues.

Would Not RecommendThe valve stem that was there was ancient and the washer was gone. I removed it and installed this one and it is leak free.
This worked great on replacing sink and toilet water shutoffs. The only thing you have to worry about it to make sure you get all the pieces of the old rubber gaskets out before you install the new ones. On one of them the pieces of the rubber gasket completely plugged up the faucet screen and the water just barely ran out. I thought I had installed it wrong.

Replaced a toilet shutoff perfectly.
Would RecommendI had a 40 year old toilet shutoff leaking out the stem. Instead of unsoldering the valve and soldering a new one, I used this simple valve replacement. I took off the old valve's packing nut, then sawed the stem in half to get the packing nut off the stem (The handle was corroded onto the stem). The replacement stem screwed into the old valve fine. Not only are there no leaks but the valve turns much easier now. I'm tempted to replace the rest of the valves in my house with this kit as preventa...
Almost but not quite universal
Would RecommendI used the chat feature to find out if this would fit my bathroom sink shutoff valve that had started dripping. The valve is soldered on so I wanted a simpler fix. I was assured that it would work so I went ahead and ordered it. The first indication that it wouldn't was that the handle wouldn't fit, not a big deal since I could get a new one. But when I went to install the nylon valve into the housing it was just slightly too big. However I was able to use the rubber gaskets on my old brass fit...
