Gas Strut Failure!

I’ve had this safe for a year and all has been great until the gas strut failed. Now it’s almost impossible to get in the safe quickly. Now I enter the code, the safe cracks but I have to have to try to get my finger nails under the door to open it!!! I wish they would fix the issue with the gas strut because I had no other issues with this safe.

Good but electronic lock is wearing out

Bought this a few years ago. Sometimes the lid is slow or will not open forcing me to use the key vs the electronic lock. I put a magnet on it as a grap handle which I use to pull the lid up after the lock disengages. After about 2 years of moderate use, the lock buttons have been wearing out. Good safe - poor operation

This is my 3rd pistol safe. Strangely this gas strut opener failed within 4 months. I’ve replaced one on one after 18 months, and thought that was acceptable. My original has its factory strut. No issues. I don’t know who supplies the strut, but obviously something changed. I am actually very disappointed, as I was considering another. Door struts are of poor quality

Like others I loved this safe out of the box. Over time the door struts began to open slower and slower until finally they won’t open at all. Then it becomes difficult to find replacement parts that are a perfect fit. Some fit but only open about 80% of the original strut. Sentry needs to make the replacement easy to find and affordable on their website since it is clearly a defect with the product design

Piston failure

Much like the other reviews the piston has failed on both safes that I purchased a few weeks apart. 1 is completely broke, the other is only opening about an inch

Easy to use gun safe

The keys light up, so it's easy to put in my code in the dark. Perfect size.

Gas stoke issue

I like the construction of the safe but unfortunately the gas stroke is failing and I have to use my finger neil to open it. The bigest problem now is that my warranty alreay expired so now i have to buy a new safe or a new stroke that will last just for several months. The save work ok for about a year before the stroke issue.

Strong, Secure, But Biometric Unreliable

I have three of these safe, one of which has the biometric entry. The safes themselves are very strong and sturdy, which is great. The digital button entry works just fine. The safe with the biometric entry is unreliable and I almost always have to use the digital buttons to open it then, again, reset the biometric finger device. Sentry need to fix this issue. Otherwise they are great safes.

Garbage gas strut

Just as everyone else has said, the gas strut has failed spectacularly, thus making this safe extra safe, especially for intruders and no-good doers.

Great Pistol Safe

First off - for those that think their gas struts are bad - change your batteries! When the batteries get low it doesn't open well. So change them more often or use better batteries. I get the pistol out of that safe an average once a month and get years out of name brand, quality batteries. That being said, I like the simple combination system with key backup. Was very easy to change codes. Like the overall heft of safe, appears to be well made!

Easy to use safe

Mounted it to the wall behind a nightstand. Seems to work well. Don’t know how long the batteries last however

Good piece of mind.

It’s not thief proof but definitely kid proof, which is exactly what it’s for. Easy to set up and the lid opener is quick.

Solid build

This safe is solidly built and simple to program. It is easy to open whether you are looking at it or not.

I like this safe cause it is heavy duty and fire safe. It's just a little to small.

Gas Stut failure

I have had thi safe for a little over a year and hardly use it. Just a month ago it started to not open because the gas strut has failed. This seems to be a big problem. Ide like to have them replaced but it seems they just keep failing from other reviewers. I love this safe, but extreemly disappointed in the opening mechanism Can I get some help?.
