Product Ruined Yard

I have always used Scott's Turf Builder Products with great results. This year I decided to use the 4 Step Annual program. Step 1 did fine but Step 2 has ruined the yard. I used a broadcast spreader in accordance with the directions and not only has a parts of the yard turned brown, it burned the grass throughout the yard. I use to have one of the best yards on the block, until I used Step 2.

Be Careful

I will not use the step 2 scotts in my yard. It's active ingredient(weed killer) is 2,4d. I grow tomatoes and other vegetables within 20 feet of my lawn. Also, my rock wall is lined with Boston Ivy. All very sensitive to 2,4d. Since this does contain 2,4d, I assume it works very well on broad leafed plants. However, if you are diligent in spot seeding early in the season, and feed your lawn well before early summer, this step 2 should be useless anyway. Besides this product's fertilizing capabil...

Excelent product

Used the 4 step program once before

The local Nursery says that scotts has to much nitrogen ... but when ever I have used the local nursery products the results are meh... With the 4 step program my yard looks fantastic. I have no real gardening experience. but this stuff really works. Not a weed anywhere in the grass and the grass looks like a tv show.

Solid product that works

Does not even kill dandelions

Granted I missed Step 1, but I was way early enough for Step 2 and put it out in April. I have had nothing but dandelions. I even tried spot spreading the areas that are infested badly and it does nothing. I made sure it didn't rain for at least 3 days both times I put it down. It does not work . Maybe there is a different result if you use Step 1 but I will not be using Step 3.

Does NOT kill clover as advertised

I use Scotts frequently on my NJ lawn. Clover is taking over, so I used Scotts Step 2 because it was advertised to kill clover. Well, Step 2 didn't reduce it at all. Disappointed.

This product is effective for weed control.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use Step 2 in September while the weeds are still actively growing, It has helped in controlling Creeping Charlie which is a problem in my lawn, It also gives my lawn a fertilizer boost before I apply Step 4 before winter sets in. I also enjoy the rebate I receive from Scott's which makes the Step program more of a value for me!

This lawn care line of products can't be beat, never fails without doubt

I have used this feeding and lawn care line of Scott's for so many years I can honestly remember however it works with out fail when used as directed. You simply can't beat the no Quibble Guarantee, and my lawn speaks for it self.

Great product

I have been using the 4 step program almost from it's introduction. When used as directed, it works better than some of the discount weed and feed products. I like that it is a Lawn Pro product and can only be purchased at a few local locations, this indicates to me that it is a superior product compared to the buy anywhere Scotts or other products.

Doesn't control weeds.

I've used it faithfully for many years. What used to be a great-looking lawn is now filled with weeds. I am extremely disappointed.

Great product!

Instead of using a lawn service we treat our own lawn using the Scott's Step products for controlling weeds. This product is easy to use and does an excellent job of controlling weeds. Our lawn looks like it is maintained by an expensive lawn service company.

Did two applications

We bought the four step products. Our yard was so weedy, and the first application certainly knocked out most of the weeds that we read the directions and decided to do a second application of step two. It's really paid off!

works pretty good

have used for 4 years now (4 step program) and has worked pretty good. however, it seems to have trouble removing dollarweed (pennywort) completely, which is one of the weeds it is supposed to handle. it lessens it but doesn't completely remove it so it comes back before end of season.

Works

I used this this Summer and so the weeds in the grass are gone and the grass got greener

Excellent product

I had a new sod lawn put in a few years back and my land scrapper recommended the Scotts 4 step program. The products work well and Step 2 really does a great job eliminating weeds. Apply to damp lawn and watch the weeds die and the grass grow.

Very Effective Against Dandelions

I consider this the most important product in my aresonal. We had alot of dandelions this spring, but after applying Step 2, the dandelions are gone and the number of weeds in my lawn are dramatically reduced. Looking forward to using this again next spring to get the rest of the weeds.

Step 2

Living in Northern New Jersey I have always used scotts step 2 with great success. The Step 1 with crab grass works very well to. I have been using scotts step 2 for the past ten years. The product has always worked great. However, when I opened the bag last month, I noticed the yellow coating had disappeared from the fertilizer. I had a bad feeling it wasn't going to work and it didn't. Not sure why a new and improved(cheaper)version. Either way it didn't do a thing. So, I'll be trying new prod...

If you like Crab Grass use this horrible product

I applied Step 1 in late april and step 2 6 weeks later, I have more crab grass than any one else on my block. this product is awful, a complete waste of time and 200 hundred dollars.
