Long wait, it delivers

I've been waiting like two years for this, and I am not disappointed with the two units that I purchased. I'm living in a relatively new construction, and the doors are bad; they get stuck and the deadbolt sometimes is difficult to close. So I was worried how well the Schlage Encode Plus would handle my bad doors. But luckily the Schlage Encode Plus works better than the deadbolts that came with the house. The front door now closes and latches without problem, and the deadbolt never snags. And ...

Wait till the next revision, this one has issues.

REALLY wanted to love this lock. HomeKit setup not simple (like it should normally is with other HK devices). Lock stopped working after a day. Customer support said "motor issue, return" but they also said they don't know much about the lock yet since it's only in limited release. So WAIT till next year after they work the kinks out. I hope I just got a bad one.

Nice but dont need support

Contacted the warranty department about a defective lock. I put in a request to get a new lock shipped. It has been two months and Schlage will not give me an update, stating they are still waiting for the lock to be manufactured from the factory. This is not a special lock, my home has been unsecured for two months due to this. The hold time is at least 51 minutes before anyone will answer. Go somewhere else if you feel like you need to call support

Please add WINK and SmartThings support!

I want to love this brand new Schlage Encode Plus Lock and want to purchase eight of these for our doors, but the only FIVE MAJOR features & NEEDS that are MISSING from this lock is WINK and SmartThings and Z-Wave and Zigbee support NEEDS to be added to this lock. Works perfectly with Apple Home Key + HomeKit

I've had the lock for a few months now, and it has worked perfectly. I've never had any issues with it not working. Other than testing the physical key for the first time during installation, I've never had to use the physical key since my phone and watch have always unlocked it without issue. No regrets!

Easy install and setup. One feature of unlocking as you near the door is not functioning. I haven't had time to look into this, so it may be a user issue. The phone tap near the lock is functioning. Overall very satisfied! I will be purchasing another one when they are back in stock.

Check the contents of Encode Plus box

I am anxiously awaiting a reply to my email to Schlage as to why my 2 Encode Plus locks did not have the strike plates shown in both the literature and web directions that would afford best install. I did not have the benefit of installing them as recommended due to incorrect hardware. The app and ease of operation are both very promising. Fingers crossed that I hear back and get the correct hardware sent along to me soon!

Excellent Apple Features at a High Price

Love this lock. It has worked flawlessly since being installed. Bought it for the HomeKit home key unlock. It works with my phone and watch. Took off a star for the price, way too high.

Excellent smart lock for Apple HomeKit

Support for Apple HomeKit and works well, but Schlage app does not work if using iOS Home app.

I really like the fact that I can finally use my Apple Watch to unlock the door. I had to call the Schlage product support to guide me through the Apple HomeKit setup process - The support technician was able to help me setup within a few minutes.

Awesome concept... flawed internal design. The internal wiring isnt "wrapped" or protected so the wires will pull apart very easily.

Best HomeKit lock ever! Easy to install. Works every time. Super fast lock and unlock. Went fro hating our previous Wi-Fi lock to loving this one. Everyone at the house is raving about how great it is. AppleWatch and iPhone fast tap and unlock, plus all the other HomeKit options. If you’re using HomeKit as your main system, there is no other choice for door locks. You found the holy grail.

I've been waiting for a product like this for a long time. Setup could have been easier, I highly recommend watching YouTube installs. However, once this is set up on your phone and watch, it is a seamless experience. It supports "Apple Home Key", so if you have Apple Wallet set up, it creates a virtual "key" in the wallet.
