Would Not RecommendThe unit is sturdy, and I love the accessories it comes with. The user manual was also easy to understand. Unfortunately, though, my unit had a defect. The 1/2" collet that is pre-installed was too small to accept a 1/2" bit. I confirmed this by troubleshooting with Skil customer support, who were very professional and helpful. I ended up returning it and getting a Bosch, which I had no issues with.

I will start this off by saying I have never used a router before. However, this router made it quick and easy to learn. I used it to carve out space for hinges and for the joinery (mortice and tenon) I used to make a decorative box for my dog food. My only complaint is the weight and the dust collection system, as my vaccume won't connect without an adapter.

Would Not RecommendWhile they are perfectly in their rights to not support the product per their registration agreement, it doesn't help the fact a bought a defective product. I purchased through Lowes 16 months ago and used it briefly to route some door jams. No adjustment needed. This weekend, I was going to route my butcher board countertops and noted that I couldn't adjust the speed. I checked Skill and somehow, I'd forgot to register the product. Mack Daddy Router
Would RecommendI purchased this router at my local Lowes store. I was very impressed with the construction of this tool. I skimmed through the manual and dug 9n operating the router. This router is the Mack Daddy of routers! I had a small job , which this tool got me completed in in a hurry. I was actually disappointed that I did not have anything more I could use this tool on. I am waiting in suspense for the next opportunity to fire up this baby. LOL.

Awesome router!
Would RecommendAwesome router overall. I've already used mine quite a bit. The plunge base is easy to set up and works great. The fixed base is just as easy to use and adjustments are easy. The digital readout makes adjustments so simple. The only complaint I have is the dust ports on both bases are a little flimsy and don't work very well. Other than that this is the best router for the money
