Would RecommendThis product is steak and potatoes. If you are looking for front-load with all the bells and whistles this product is not for you. However, if you simply need to wash clothes, want to buy an inexpensive American Made product, then this washer might be for you. I own a poultry operation and, as you might expect, I have to wash some dirty clothes. The Lowes delivery guys dropped it off (free of charge I might add) and I started washing immediately the backlog of clothes which piled up from the bre...
Roper
Would RecommendHad this washing machine for more than 10 years...just went out last night. On my way to get another today!
Decent Washer Great Price
Would RecommendI read all the reviews containing complaints of low water levels and noise...but bought this anyway and I'm glad I did! First of all, yeah, it has low water levels...but that was a FEATURE that was DESIGNED INTO THE WASHER. It is noted on the inside of the lid and in the instruction manual that the low water levels are designed to save you water. If you don't over fill the machine with clothes, the water level is perfectly adequate. My clothes have all come out clean and residue free....those wh...
Best and long Lasting
Would RecommendI bought my Roper set in 1997 and it still going. Great Product..
Great machine
Would RecommendBought another machine that had some bells and whistles--OMG was the worst washer ever. After fighting with it for for 4 loads of laundry-I returned it. Found this machine at Lowe's. Just what I wanted--basic machine, direct drive, dials (not electronic controls), no lid lock and a great price --I'm a happy camper. The rinse water level is a little low but there is a way to adjust it. I hope is has a long life cause the new fancy washers are not for me.
Excellent Washer for 1 Year
Would RecommendWe bought one of these washers in October of 2010, mainly because we already had a Roper dryer for about a year, and it was/is excellent. We put this washing machine through it's paces - about an average of three to four loads per day, 5 to 6 days a week, and it has been doing an excellent job. This month it broke down (November 2011, just out of warranty), and after troubleshooting the problem, it seem to have a shot bearing in the motor (about a $140.00 for the motor). At this point we are con...
Don't like it at all.
Would Not RecommendI've had a Roper washer for almost 20 years and never had a problem with it, until it just quit. Decided to replace it with the newest model, big mistake. This machine is way noisier, and I don't like how the rinse cycle works. There's never enough water, and the clothes always come out with soap residue and lint all over them. You either have to wash them all again, or spend hours with the lint brush. I don't see how they figure this is conserving anything! You have to wash smaller loads, there...
Just Delivered and Used
Would Not RecommendDELIVERY GUYS WERE GR8 BEST PART OF THE EXPERIENCE. THIS MACHINE IS CHEAPLY PRICED BUT NOT GOOD VALUE. READ ALL THE REVIEW AND LOOKED LIKE 50/50 ODDS WOULD GET GOOD MACHING. DESIGN FLAWS FOR SURE. REGARDLESS OF WHAT LOWES OR ROPER SAY YOU CAN NOT RINSE IF THE WATER DOESNT COVER THE CLOTHES. I TESTED WITH HALF LOAD, WASHED OK, RISE DIDNT FILL UP EVEN 1/4 SO HAD TO FLIP THE DIAL BACK TO WASH AND LET IT FILL UP AND THEN FLIP DIAL BACK TO RINSE. NOT WORKABLE SOLUTION LONG TERM. OTHERSIDE VERY LOAD M...
i love this washer
Would Recommendhad this washer delivered about a month ago and i am very pleased with it. my clothes come out clean and we have had no problem with the rinse cysle not doing its job. it is a little bit loud but it washes very quickly. I have no idea why people are saying it takes an hour to wash, more like 30 mins. I would definetly recommend to a friend especially for this price.
Returned
Would Not Recommend$299 for a new washer seemed like a great deal. I was wrong! Besides being quite noisy, the normal wash cycle seemed a bit rough. But the main reason I returned it was the rinse cycle. The rinse water filled up to the lowest level no matter how big the load of clothes. I had to repeat the wash cycle without detergent to get the clothes rinsed properly. Not sure how they thought using such a little bit of water would save energy or anything else. Please choose a different machine and save yoursel...
Shaker!
Would Not RecommendWe have this washer in a home we just moved into and are not happy with it. It is noisy and shakes terribly when we run a load of clothes (a small, light load...it's not off center, it's just this lovely washer). We definitely would not recommend either the Roper washer or the dryer.
Roper Washer
Would RecommendDo not be alarmed at the low amount of water in the rinse cycle, I called a repairman over it, but was told it only get 6 inches of water during the rinse. Love the washer, a little noisy, but so far, seems to be a good value for the money!
Product design flaw
Would Not RecommendThe rinse cycle not filling up but 1/4 way full is a flaw
Did not even get through the first load
Would Not RecommendShould have known we had a problem before the Lowe's delivery guy left. He hooked it up but could not get "warm" water. He suggeted we run at least a load and it should be ok. During the first load, which was a light load of rags, as it went from the wash cylce to rinse it made a loud popping noise and then if stopped. Called service and waited on hold for 20 mins with no answer (must have been everyone else calling about the trash Roper makes). Called the Lowes store back and told them to come ...
Good, inexpensive, simple washer
Would RecommendWe just bought a set of these Roper laundry appliances for our new house. I wanted these units because they are simple in appearance & easy to use but I was a little scared after reading some of the reviews. However, I saw more expensive machines with similarly poor ratings. While we haven't had these machines more than a couple weeks, we're well satisfied with them. We don't have any leaks, our clothes come out very clean and dry and there is no soap residue from the low rinse. The washer is a ...
Stay Away
Would Not RecommendLike most other people on here I looked at the $299 price and thought it was a great value. During the first load i noticed it was very noisy. Water was dripping from splashing over the tub and running down the inside of body. I could smell a burnt rubber smell also. Before buying i would urge you too read the reviews. Mine is going back today and picking another model. I had a Roper for the last 10 years and was very happy with it, the new model is no where near the quality of old ones.
hate the rinse cycle
Would Not Recommendo.k. the price is good. it washes very vigorously, which is to say rough. even the "gentle" cycle is at this speed with pauses in between batterings. the clothes are clean in the end. however, no matter what level you choose for the wash cycle, the rinse cycle is filled to the lowest level. that, the repairman told me is just the way it is designed for energy savings. not so fast energy guru who probably never does his own laundry and may not even know how to operate a washer. like others, i am ...
buying a second!
Would RecommendI was in the military and bought this washer in GA. The movers had dropped it off fork-lift or something and did some major damage to the top. Even after all that I used it for another 2 years with out any leaks or anything. I really don't have the money to replace it but the drum stopped working. I took it apart and the belt is worn. The belt has nothing to do with the movers but to do with heavy use for over 5 years. So as soon as I save the $300 I'm in for a second!
Dirty clothes, timely, and detergent stains.
Would Not RecommendIf you like to wait an hour for a noisy load of laundry to finish and still be left with dirty clothes and detergent stains on your clothes, I would highly recommend this washing machine. This machine takes about an hour to do one regular load of laundry, it is extremely noisy, and after all that your clothes still come out dirty or with detergent stains. This was a poorly designed machine and I would not recommend it to even my worst enemy. Every time I use the machine i dread seeing my clothes...
