Spend the extra money & get a good one!

This washer is very loud and went out after only 3 years of use. After purchasing a new washer, I now see how poorly it was was washing our clothes because now they look and smell so much fresher! Spend a little extra and get something good!

Stay away

This is the second machine we had in sixty days. The first leaked water underneath and the second will not spin half the time and still leaks.

Low cost workhorse

After years of headaches with fancy machines, I told the guy at Lowes I wanted a simple, well-built washer that wouldn't break down. He immediately pointed out the Roper. I hadn't even asked for a low price, so I was shocked to see how inexpensive it was. He said Roper machines are popular with apartment-building owners, which I considered a great recommendation. I got the washer and the dryer, had them installed that afternoon, and couldn't be more pleased with the choice.

Works fine for being the least expensive washer

I live alone so I've only used the washer a few times. It is very noisy (like the other reviewers said & sometimes makes a loud clunking noise, but so far it's working. Glad I bought the extended warranty. The rinse water is very low but none of my clothes have had any soap on them after rinsing. I like that the lid doesn't lock & you can add clothes.

MUCH BETTER THAN 700.00 MACHINE

I am a product of the 50's. I am quite saddened by the quality of steel and other parts used in maufacturing products. If they were made better, to last longer, we would not have the landfill, recycling issues now upon us. I do not see appliances lasting more than 6-10 years at the utmost. Great Simple Washer

We bought this washer at Lowe's 3 years ago and have had no problems with it. The machine is simple to operate and gets our chlothes clean. It is a little noiser than the higher priced models but we can live with that, It has already outlasted 2 other higher priced machines. I would buy another onetoday if this one bit the dust because it has already outlasted a top of the line GE and a mid grade Frigidare which only lasted until the warranty went out on them. I have just purchased a roper washer after the first wash I had a headache from the loud noise and oily smell my warm water does not work it comes out cold the hot water changes three times from cold to warm to hot and the loud clanking sound is maddening.the water level is very low.

Total Junk

Bought matching set and washer worked good until the timer went out 1 year and 9 days. Replaced timer then the thing started leaking. Waste of money.

Buyer beware. This washing machine only has several inches of water to clean a full load. Saves water but does not clean your clothes!

I am waiting for a call back for the SECOND washer I purchased with the Roper name. The first and seconds ones are both unable to function after using them 4 times. They stop on a setting, hum like they are struggling, and start to smell ike burnt rubber. This is the first washer and dryer set that my husband and I purchased together. Main deciding factor was the price so far we've had these for 7 years and it's still works very well. Returned Washer After 1 Load!

During the first load, the washing machine smelled like burnt rubber. The entire house was saturated with the stink for the next two days. It was also the loudest washing machine I have ever heard. I would describe it as deafening. Returned the washer immediately. Don't buy this brand.

Loud But Functions Well

I was so worried after reading the reviews, but found this washing machine functions well for me. Not The Machine It Used To Be

I got the Whirlpool version of this washer 1 1/2 years ago.Ropers are rebadged Whirlpools. The transmission started leaking oil from the first use,but it was repaired in less than a week. I agree about the loud noise this washer makes. I was told that Whirlpool now uses plastic gears instead of metal gears in the transmission in these washers thus making it a very loud washer.I don't know if this will effect the durability of this machine or not,since the Whirlpools like this one usually lasted ...

Low Rinse Water Fix

Low rinse water level is a major negative, but be advised that a simple adjustment will bring rinse water level up to fill water level. This adjustment will be performed under the one year warranty. Mine was fixed today. After a year, just pay for a service call.

I have only had this washer for a few months, but so far so good. I purchased it online, and was disappointed to see when it arrived that it does not come equipped with an automatic liquid fabric softener dispenser, but that's not a big deal for me. Good For The Price

Well i am single and dont need much in a washer. This is good for a single or couple. But not for a family. It gets the work clothes clean and the whites /.white. But not satisfied with the rinse cycle as for as the amount of water it uses. It does spin the clothes dryer than my last one. Which was a quite scrub by Eletrolux. But that was a 6 ro 7 hundred dollar machine.
