I don't know what the whining is about in other reviews, I have two TVs with it and one with express. It works very well and there is ample selection to watch free. I suggest the lazy people turn it off if they are not watching or buy a modern TV that has a screensaver. Cant wait for it to go on sale to get another one

Remote Eats Batteries

The remote appears to be on all the time, draining the batteries. I'm not sure what it's doing, since we use the Roku rarely. If you purchase this device, be sure to invest in a big supply of AAA batteries - and store them in a location convenient to your TV.

TERRIBLE Remote - Drains Batteries In Days.

I have to replace my double AA batteries every few days or remove the batteries. USELESS. I have returned two units to Best Buy, and then contacted Roku who sent me a "NEW" remote. Same problem. Not just me. Read the forums on Roku and on the web. DO NOT BUY...unless you have stock in Duracell.

Lousy Enhanced Remote

I bought this product in August 2020. It doesn't get used very often. The remote uses two AAA alkaline batteries; I buy Duracell brand. There's no switch to turn the remote on or off. As a result it seems to be always on. I have to replace them every 2-3 weeks! The only alternative is to remove them after each use.

Amazing small package

I bought one a short while ago and hooked it up to our wall mounted TV. We wanted it to be able to view HBO-Max. Works like a charm! We are so happy we bought two more , and when they are on sale again will buy a forth unit.

Terrible App Support

I bought 4 Roku's to watch TV with the Spectrum TV app. My in-laws have this throughout their house and they really like it however, I cannot get install it on my brand new devices. Roku won't let me log into the Spectrum TV app. The Spectrum TV app is the sole reason I bought 4 of these devices instead of the amazon FireTV's that I currently own. My Roku devices are useless to me bc Roku decides when to block apps from being used.

Regrettable Purchase

Purchase this stick 2 months ago. The stick does what it's supposed to do, stream media from various providers, but then again so do others. What is a deal breaker for me, and this is huge. It's an always on device. So if you fall asleep with it on, (which I often do) it will stay on. For example both on my TV and monitor it has auto detect, so if it detects no content on, the TV automatically turns off. Most TVs and monitors have this. What a great device!

For YouTube tv or other streaming services, Roku is the only way to go. it's fairly inexpensive, boots up quickly, and is easy to navigate. I now have the devices on 6 tvs and all work great. Glad I chose that platform.

Perfect, instruction and installation

Great upgrade to my not so current smart TV. Wifi 2.4 and 5Ghz reception. Instruction was clear and installation went flawless! I will be adding a 2nd device to my Vizio TV so I can stream Sling, not natively supported.

I love my roku but hate this streaming stick

They should rename this to the battery killer. Within 1 week the thing has gone through two sets of batteries. I have had some remotes I use every single day and have not changed the batteries in years. I have a few other roku players in the house and they are far better with less features. With this device you get Roku channels for free and Pluto tv free and popcornflix free and CBS live so if you have good internet and can stream and want to save money on cable I suggest this definitely.I got Philo tv for $20 a month for 65 channels and save big time on my cable bill.

Best way to make your TV smart

Love this! I have bought 4 for my not smart TVs at my house and cabin. even bought one for my aging mother. So easy to set up and use. Love the remote on my phone feature. When on the treadmill I plug in my headphones to my phone and am able to hear the tv. Love, love, love! Need one more to make all my TVs smart

Roku Streaming Stick

I like my recently purchased Roku Streaming Stick; however, you still need a "service" such as Cable or Xfinity, etc., in order to watch many of things such as ESPN, Hallmark Channel, Fox News, etc.

Discovering ROKU

I was tired of paying a high monthly fee for basic tv so I bought this product in the hope of decreasing my monthly rate and I DID. I’m saving about $65 for canceling the tv portion but keeping the internet (wifi) plus I was able to return the 2 cable boxes that was costing $24/month for the rental. . I also canceled HBO and then purchased it through their app and added it to ROKU. I’m very happy to have made the switch. The set up was very easy.
