The product can effectively filter pool water, resulting in clear and clean water. However, some customers reported issues with the sand being too fine, leading to clogged filters, reduced water flow, and the need for frequent filter cleanings. There were also complaints about impurities in the sand. Overall, the suitability of the product depends on the specific needs of the pool and filter system, and careful consideration is required to ensure it works well.

Would RecommendIt just sand so there's not a lot to say. It is well packaged, so the sand does stay in the bag.

too fine
Would Not RecommendThis sand is too fine and the filter sends it out into the pool
Terrible pool filter sand
Would Not RecommendCHEAP = VERY BAD some times. Great price, great store, friendly emoloyees, but this sand does not actually filter-out small debris tht pass beyond the side skimmer and the pump skimmer. Result is massive amount of small to medium size particles returning to the Polaris’s “thimble strainer”, causing excessive filter back pressure and failure of the Polaris. Highly recommend not buying this inexpensive and ineffective product. Sorry for any spelling errors
At the beach
Would Not RecommendWe filled the Krystal Clear sand pump until it was between max and mid, about 1 1/2 bags with Quikrete sand. This is our 4th summer with an 18' above ground intex. New pump every year (long story/my fault). This year we decided to save money and pick this up at Lowe's. It's way too fine for the filter!! Every time I backwash we're losing sand. It has to be at least 1/2 bag. I wish that I was exaggerating. I did have to give it 2 stars, though, because I kinda like how it feels when I bury my fee...
Pool sand
Would Not RecommendThis sand does not give what grade of sand it is and it is much larger than other pool sands. Did not work for us at all, went back to some that cost a little more but actually worked.
Affordable alternative to pool supply stores
Would Recommendit's sand
Would Recommendit is the recommended #20 size and works great. some reviews claim it causes algae or cloudy. algae is a chemistry problem not a filter problem. the filter is there to filter out DEAD algae not live algae. also sand does not need changed out except for extreme circumstances. it's been around for millions of years, your pool is not going to wear it out
The perfect send for my Hayward sand filter
Would RecommendI just got a Hayward Pro Series 2200 sand filter to accompany my new 18' x 33' oval above ground pool. I was apprehensive about this sand but the gradation appeared to be correct. I initially had a spring water silt problem during the fill and it left the pool a pretty cloudy. With the aide of one dose of a clarifier/coagulation agent for pools and spas, the pool was crystal clear within 24 hours and ready for swimming! I would definitely buy this sand again.

If there was less than a 1 star rating
Would Not RecommendIf there was less than a 1 star rating, I would be happy. This sand does not filter fine particles. It caused an algae bloom in my pool. The water washed right around the sand and back to the pool. Don't buy this garbage. Do yourself a favor and spend more if you want a clear pool.
quickrete pool filter sand
Would Not Recommendreplaced my filter sand with this quickrete product and had cloudy pool water. Do Not Waste Your Money or Time With This Pool Filter Sand
