Sand or gravel?

This product has gravel in it. Not sure it is suppose to. I thought sand meant sand. If I wanted gravel, I'd buy gravel. Anyway, I used it. I'm sure it will be fine. I wish it was easier to remove the old sand and easier to pour the new sand in the filter. Maybe there is a way. The sand is wet and doesn't just pour into the filter. So I had to scoop it out of the bag and try not making a mess. It took longer than it should have.

Works great!

So my sand hadn’t been changed in at least 8 years. Every time my pool guys came to open or close the pool i asked about it and they always said “remind us next fall/spring”. Well the water started getting cloudy and i figured it couldn’t be that hard so did it myself. It was a pain in the you know what! Hardest part was just getting the old sand out. It was clumped and lots of it clay like. Used a good shop vac which kept clogging. But got it out and replaced with this and it looks great! ...

Terrible inconsistent Product

Much of it blows back into the pool. The rest turns into mud inside the filter. None of it filters. If you try to add DE to help it filter, it blows the DE back into the pool and makes it even cloudier. I've had a pool for 10+ years. I've never had any of the problems that this sand has caused.

It was time to change the sand in my pool filter. This was very affordable and did the job well.

Great product for the price and impressive performance. No sand leakback into pool, Backwash and rinse produces clean water quickly. Recommend

Half Empty Bags

A couple of the bags were half empty. I had to purchase more at the local hardware store to fill our sand filter.

The pour spout doesn't really work otherwise it looked like good sand.

Great Sand...at a great price.

I bought this for my pool filter after reviewing other "suppliers" pool filter sand and this product from Lowe's was much less expensive compared to the pool service stores. I recommend saving yourself 50-75% and get it from Lowe's.
