Looks good and works well

Easy to use and work well. Seem to be very sturdy. They were relatively easy to assemble. However the online directions I received were a bit lacking. Use #8 screws to attach the treads not the #10 they suggest. Also I believe 1" long #8 screws would suffice. I used 1 1/4" and they almost split the wood. Also there will be some tight areas so I would suggest a 6" or 8" extension for your driver to install the tread screws. I didn't have one so my screws had to go in at an angle. 5/16" (...

Only 1 screw hole for treads

As I said there is only 1 screw hole for treads. It's not installed yet. Look at the pictures there is 1 hole on top and none underneath

Company says to use 2 2x6 for stair tread but there is only 1 screw hole for the tread. You will either have to use 2x12 or drill another screw hole in the steel.

Great product. Easy build and easy to install and looks great. I’m 61 and had no problem installing the stairs.

Don't order! Didn't arrive and no refund issued

Ordered a month ago and it never arrived. Lowes chat told me to call Lowes to cancel. When I called, they informed me that the order wasn't placed through Lowes, but rather facilitated through Lowes, and that I would need to contact Pylex directly to cancel. I called Pylex and they didn't answer. So now I am out the $$ and I don't have the product. I purchased through Lowes because I was expecting the Lowes guarantee.

I dont recommend ordering

Vendor only sent half the product and kept delaying getting thw other half. Overall returned product due to missing parts

Step it up

I picked these up to use as stairs for my tiny office. I got tired of using a little step stool to get in and out and these worked perfect for the height. My only complaint was that attaching the stair boards was a bit of a pain. I ended up making a template to drill because accessing the holes from underneath was nearly impossible. So I drilled my boards and then used some flush bolts to attach. Not seamless but it's study and works!

No connectors supplied with more expensive kits

Connectors were not supplied, despite being shown and described as a 10 - steps kit. I discovered there is no reason to order these longer kits because the connectors are not included, except I paid $120 more. Order the 5 - step stringers and connectors ala carte, instead, or even better, HD. I talked to store manager, home office and even Pylex. None of them understand the product or would correct this or even return my call.

I purchased these stringers for a few reasons. 1. The black paint matched the posts and rails I planned to use. 2. The installation instructions clearly showed the number of stairs required based on the height of the rise. 3. Being made of steel, the stringers provide strength. Sturdy stairs but awkward bolting pattern

These are sturdy but they did not consider assembly when making these. The risers only have one bolt hole for the riser board. The other bolts are inconsistent and awkward locations. We'll see how long they hold up but the paint finish and weld quality seems ok.

Utterly misleading! This is the middle bracket ONLY. You still need to buy two each of 5’ and 6’ stringers, contrary to the information provided. Nice simple low steps

I bought the 3 step stringer. Sturdy, easy to assemble. The pre drilled holes in the steel are rather large, buy screws of the dimensions instructed but they need large heads (or washers). Would have been a struggle to put together with just one person. There is nowhere to attach a railing.

Easy to put together, looks good

This item is solid and well built. One thing I didn't know was their recommendation to use tar paper on the wood steps. Don't forget to buy some. The stairs really do look good.
