Would RecommendI have an old hose that finally sprung a leak. I cut out that small portion and connected the ends together. It works great and delayed having to replace this now 18 year old hose. The only issue I had is I didn't tighten them enough the first time and had a drip. I tightened the bands and the drip stopped. This happened a second time and I again tightened the bands. Now it doesn't drip at all.

Hose clamps catch on things and rust easily.
Would RecommendMetal hose connector is sturdy however screws rust quickly and they stick out and catch on things. I much prefer the plastic connectors, but they were not available in the store.

Garden repair kit
Would Not RecommendI used this device on a 100 foot garden hose( a heavy duty garden hose). I placed about 7 feet from the connector where the split in the hose happened. While I made the connect as tight as the hose clips would permit, there was some leakage from the repair site. I took it off and got a larger screw driver to make the connection much tighter but I do not trust it yet. Not a lot of choices out there for repair kits for hoses!
