Would RecommendMy mailbox got hit at least 3 years ago. The bottom half of the post was still in good shape, so I screwed the top half to the bottom half as a temporary fix. I thought I would have to dig up the existing post, put new cement down, and then put in a new post. So I delayed doing it. Would RecommendVery economical and easy to DIY. I was replacing a wooden mailbox post, so I didn't have to dig. New PVC sleeve slipped over the existing 4x4 easily. I used shims to give it a tight fit, but careful not to make the plastic bulge. All the screws and brackets needed were included. I bought a different topper for the upright post, but the included one is fine though plain. I intend to put a black metal support under the mailbox support just for looks, though it is secure as is. Would RecommendWell made for what it is. Went together flawlessly. Fits easily over a 4x4" post with some adjustable room. Suggest 2 screws on each side to fasten horizontal to vertical piece. With the single screws provided, the horizontal piece moves. I drilled 2 holes in the bottom of the horizontal piece before assembly to hang a number sign. Makes for a nice looking post when finished.
