Bought 2 of them , returned the next day

So I had read not so well reviews and figured eh , they must've not installed or programmed correctly etc . I also saw that they were on special from $89 to $69 n figured, sure I'll give em a try , worse case they don't work and I'll simply return them . I went in the store , straight to them . I saw that most of the packages (80%)had been re-taped , like in having been restocked returns . I avoided those and got the ones way in the back that seemed brand new with dust n all . Remote will only turn lights off and on

I’ve had four sets connected for a few months with no problem. Last night we had a thunderstorm and now when I turn the lights on with the remote they only display red. None of the other colors or functions will come on.

Day or Night

Hubby has wanted these for a couple of yeas so we broke down and bought a strand, easy install with hooks (not included), heavy duty cord and two extra bulbs, AWESOME! Love the different colors, multi settings for our viewing pleasure, looks great. Remote works fine, The only problem is they will come on at random times of the day or night! They'll be on when we get home from work or when we get up in the morning?!? What's up with that?

Remote broke, just like everyone else is saying

After about a year of having these lights the remote quit working. Now they are stuck on red. If stuck on blue it would be better. Too late for return so I’m stuck. Nowhere on internet to get another remote.

My Experience

Felt I needed to share my thoughts as there seems to be mixed reviews and this concerned me when buying these lights. We ended up buying 3 strings linked together and have had up just a couple of days. The bulbs are top notch, not like a typical glass bulb that can shatter easily. These are more solid and would likely crack only with a really large whack. They are also pretty bright compared to a different set I had. I read the reviews...

... but I didn’t listen. I thought I won’t be the one to get a bad remote or no remote. Guess what?? I got a bad remote!! It didn’t work at all and I didn’t want the change to exchange it only to hang it up and two weeks later have it go bad. It’s garbage!!! Don’t buy this. Now I won’t but any of portfolio’s products at all which is a shame because they have so many different thing on the selves but if this product is so poorly made then what else can I expect. Don’t buy this product even!!

Beautiful

We bought 2 strands to hang over our patio. They are beautiful and put out just the right amount of light for us. We thought we had remote problems but found out you have to aim the remote to the control unit and it works perfectly.

Default colors?

Don't understand the default color problems some are experiencing?? Mine default to the color they were before they were turned off?? Lights are not that bright I agree but for a patio light they do a good job but you do need to keep them 2 foot apart per row to keep them even.

Lights string

Once I place the lights up on my patio they look great. One concern is that I have to get close to the receiver on the cable lights for the remote to work. Also, the lights will turn red when powered and can only be change with remote.

Wonderful Lighting

Love the different colors it has, and very easy to install. We bought three, two to connect together, and one as a spare because Lowe’s raised their price again. However I would change the remote control with the sensor, you have to get real close to the sensor for it to work properly. Other than that, great product, looks really nice on our porch.

Remote not working - must be inches from receiver

Firstly I don't like the fact there is no warranty. After installing 4 strings in our outdoor patio area at first they worked fine. But we quickly learned of a serious fault that anyone can and most likely will in time run into. "The remote." This is the deal breaker. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not. You have to be about 6" from the receiver or closer (plug end) for it to receive the remote signal. Once you did manage to turn it on it would not turn off unless you unplugged it. Very...

Garbage -Remote does not work

Bought these and tested in house before putting up. Looked great, colors changed, flashed. Seemed to be a heavy duty string of lights that could last a long time. BUT, found out after putting lights up that the remote does not work unless it is within a foot or two of the base of the light string. This makes the lights useless once hung up. Had to get the ladder back out to climb up close enough to get remote to work. Tried different battery and different remote and still didn't work....

Led colored lights

They are not bright at all. One bulb didn’t work. I am returning them.

Poor quality for price.

We've had the lights for a few months now and the remote has stopped working. Now the lights only stay on red. We were excited to have Outdoor LED lights that changed colors. I would not recommend this product. For $90 I would expect the remote to last longer than a few months of very little use and excellent care. Very disappointed.
