Would RecommendI bought this yesterday to take care of some wood I was given. Checked all the hoses and fluid levels. The motor started on the second pull. I stroked the ram and got to work. Did a cord of red oak the first day some of the logs were larger but it powered through. Day two a cord worth of mesquite without a problem. been through 3 tanks of gas but very happy with my purchase. No problems so far, have some pecan to do next weekend, we will see if I change my mind.
I picked up my splitter on Friday evening and as of Sunday evening, I am highly impressed by this machine. I split a bunch of big oak with no problems. A lot of machine for the price.
Good for the money
Would RecommendAfter one use it spllits well. Even powers through knots. The store did not complete the assembly correctly. Check the hydraulic lines for tightness. Had a loose fitting that started leaking just a few minutes of running.
Works awesome!
Would RecommendFirst thing you need to know is you will not go pick it up and think you will haul it home with your tow hitch. He goes to pick it up and they asked did he want it assembled.looking back I did see it said it in the description). He said no because we felt it would take a long time and didnt know if we would have to pay.So the guy has it on a dolly thing and brings (tried) to go through the small checkout with it.Ni way.So took it through wide doors. Then takes out to tuck.Well that wasnt going to ...

Product good, but the assembly service was not.
Would RecommendI have used this product on 28in long and 28 in round log rounds, hardwood, and it powered right through! Good machine for the money, and with the special financing with the Lowes card I couldn't go wrong. The only problem I had with it is that the Customer Service told me when it would be ready, and they were wrong both of the first two instances...then when it was "ready", we picked it up , but it was NOT totally assembled as they said...had to put on two hydralic lines, and one wheel cap, a...

Great splitter for the price!
Would RecommendSplit about 2 cords so far mostly maple and oak verticle great for big logs. Placing a 2x6 against plate helps keep logs in place when verticle. Found small leak on inlet of filter, tightened fitting.
Decent splitter for the money.
Would RecommendSplitter worked great on pine, split some smaller cottonwood. Some poor assembly at the store but not a problem. Only issue was a small leak that developed on the hydraulic cylinder seal. Doubt it was from being overworked since the leak developed while splitting just the pine. Probably wouldn't have returned it but a small leak starting within a few hours doesnt inspire confidence. Maybe just a fluke. Since they dodnt have another one of these I'm going to try the next one up. So we will see ho...
Monster Splitter
Would RecommendUpgraded to the 27 ton from a very old 20 ton. This thing chewed through an oak tree that was being cut in 24" pieces like it was nothing. The double beveled edge helped slice through the toughest knots in the tree. At the sale price I highly recommend...if you can still find one - I bought the last one of the 5 Lowe's in my area!
Frustrating purchase but works good
Would RecommendAfter several hours of use it’s working fine. It took days to get to this point. What people said about the hydraulic lines was true. Actually the assembly was or poor quality. In addition to the lines, one wheel wasn’t properly installed, they failed to remove a shipping bracket, and they didn’t add enough engine oil. There was a bag of parts with the manual that were never installed. Fortunately the manual includes assembly instructions and one would do well going over the entire assembly. In ...
So far working well after 2 cords of wood, splitting up to 24 inches in diameter with no hangups. One more tree to cut up. Highly recommend for the price, almost want to say its a great bargain
pretty disappointing repeat pump failures
Would Not RecommendSplitter work the first day. Split 2 cords of various size logs. The scond day started out good until the pump locked up. Returned it to the store and got a replacement. The replacement also locked up on the third split of a small logs. This one is going back as well. Will try a different brand next time.
Great for the price
Would RecommendI'm busting 38 to 48 inch red oak with it and it is doing very good beats the heck out of the hammer and wedge
As good a splitter as one can get for under $1000
The 6 1/2 hp Briggs starts on one pull. Full cycle takes about 14 seconds. It's fast enough to keep me busy. I've split 3 full cords and it rarely slows down. It's real easy to keep clean. All you need is a screwdriver to clean out the areas where small woodchips accumulate. With my military discount the cost was under $900. Only one improvement would be the addition of a crank on the stand so that you could adjust the height. The splitter is very nose heavy. Almost to the point of wanting anot...
REALLY GOOD FOR THE MONEY
I purchased this on 21 Apr 2020 and it has performed flawlessly on two cords of wood. Do check hydraulic fluid and hoses when you pick this up.
Check the Hydraulic Fluid BEFORE you leave.
Would RecommendI just got my PB Log SPlitter out to the farm and added oil and gas. Fired it up second pull and found the hydraulics would not operate. I checked the hydraulic fluid reservoir and found it empty. CHECK BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE. I am reaching out to the Lowes in Jonesboro, AR and ask them about this, I doubt I get anywhere since I had to wait for 54 minutes while they located one of four they had in stock. 6.5 gallons of hydraulic A-46 isn't cheap, I hope and trust they will make it...
Wish I was a log splitter
Would Not RecommendJunk!!!! Just return my second was a splitter Do Not buy !!!!! I herd Jackson Ca. has 10 return setting I their store what a piece of JUNK!!!!!! One star is to many no 0 stars!!!!
Love This Splitter!
Would RecommendFull disclosure, I had to take the first one back because one of the hydraulic lines kinked when it was set up in the vertical position. Check to make sure that it does not do this before you leave the store! Lowes was very nice about it and replaced the unit. No big deal. It starts up super easy and is a tank! The instruction manual is in a “hidden” compartment on the bottom of the unit. I’ve split oak logs that are almost 36 inches in diameter with ease.
Really Good Log Splitter for the Money
Would RecommendI'm on my 8th cord of wood and it has performed flawless. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a log splitter for about $1,000.00
