Great buy, Even greater price

Before purchasing this product I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. I was not disappointed! I used it to chop down a bush that had gotten out of control(about 6-7 feet high). This saw went through that trunk and those branches with ease. It did struggle just a little when it was going through the biggest part of the trunk. But nonetheless it got the job done. Blade slips off

Thought this was a good value for an item I probably would use on a limited basis. The blade kept slipping off while sawing through a steel rod; used a DeWalt bimetal blade. Tried lower speed which helped somewhat. Didn’t want to deal with trying another similar saw so returned it to Lowe’s; no problem in the return which is what I like about Lowe’s. Not worth the money

The first time I used this saw the blade fell off. Tried three new blades. Same result as soon as the blade touched wood. Returned it and bought a Dewalt. No problems with the Dewalt.

Disappointed

I am very disappointed in this product I have tried multiple different brands of blades including porter cable, Lenox, and dewalt. And every one of them would come out as soon as any pressure was put on them. I brought it back to my Lowe’s and they exchanged it and the new one did the same exact thing.

Decent but doesn't saw all....

I needed this to cut some 4x4s. It did fine on the hood and the side panels, however it didn't make it through the engine block. Wore out several blades and still struggled. Seems to do better with fruit and vegetables. Although it was difficult to hold the garlic clove without getting my fingers bloody.

Stout tool

The saw handles wood studs and metal pipe so far so good! Blade changes are a breeze with the quick release. Has plenty of power to tackle any job.

Great price, excellent product

I have never owned a similar saw, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems like a very well-built and high-quality tool. Purchase dt: 2.21.2018... Being a female who does work all kinds of projects. My skill saw died after 20+ years. Excellent tool for the price

Plug and play is the name for this tool. 7.5 amps is plenty of power unless you’re looking to cut through a bridge or something. The variable speed trigger helps in precision cutting and helps to tame this beast. The only drawback is the adgustable foot comes with an Allen Wrench that can be easily lost, a storage place in the body would help.

Disappointing UPS service.

To Whom It May Concern, I received my order, a Porter Cable Reciprocating Saw yesterday afternoon at 5 pm, 12/27/16. I discovered my package left by the UPS driver behind a fence which is behind my mailbox, (no gate, the package was at an open end of the fence). We live in the country and my mailbox is approximately 525 feet away from my house. Is it normal for a UPS driver to leave a package in such an insecure location?! Blade comes out when cutting

I got this saw for a fence project, was pleased the first 5 minutes of use, then almost finished with me cutting the blade started coming out in the middle of cutting, then it was hard to pull out the stuck saw blade, re- installed and same problem, changed blades, and problem kept happening Blade would come out of saw when applying pressure to the cut Spend a little more and get a better saw

Had to return after first use

Helped my brother cutting down some small tall trees and branches,,,largest size maybe 2 inch diameter. The blade came out of the locking mechanism and stuck in the wood. Did this several times. Called Porter Cable and rep told me they could send me new locking mechanism or have me take saw to repair place. Thank goodness Lowe's has 90 day return policy so went to store and returned defective one. So got another one just like it for my brother, again for Christmas, so next time he tries it ...

Good, Light Design BUT doesn't hold blade

I don't usually return tools/products, but this tool failed me a couple of times. I used the blade that came with the tool to but down a couple of studs for a window I was building in an existing wall, but the blade kept ejecting from the tool and I had to summon the power of Thor to pry the stuck blade out of a halfway cut stud.
