This is a great tool. I was surprised how cheap it was, yet very powerful and effective. This tool does what it was designed to do and does it well. No complaints so far. I’ve used other ac reciprocating saws and battery operated versions and this is the most powerful one I’ve used so far. I’ve read through some of the other comments and just have to say that if you don’t know how to use this tool please read the manual that came with it and be safe. There is no shame in it - if you don’t know ...
Poerter-Cable saw
Would RecommendGood tool to have. Cut thresholds and many other wood in the construction of our home. Tip, purchase a blade right out the gate. The one that comes with it won't last.

Good tool
Would RecommendI was Leary about the price and quality. Porter Cable makes good products. So far works great.

Extremely Dangerous Machine-Has A Fatal Flaw!!!!!
Would Not RecommendI bought this at Lowe's for work around the yard, like cutting down limbs. Have a chain saw but those are such a pain and really overkill for 2" limbs. The saw works very well on limbs up to 5-6 inches and I did use it for cutting down metal chain link fence posts and it also worked well, but be aware, it has a fatal flaw. It does not have a safety button that must be pressed before pulling the trigger for the saw to work. The trigger is basically part of the handle, like almost all reciproca...
Good for cutting down trees!
Would RecommendWith a pruning blade, I used this to cut down a 9in diameter ~25 foot tall holly tree in a matter of minutes. Blade started to smoke after a minute due to heat and the moisture of the tree, but the saw didn't get beyond lightly warm as it continued to cut. Very impressed.
I love this Variable Speed Reciprocating Saw
Would RecommendI love this PORTER-CABLE Variable Speed Corded Reciprocating Saw I purchased this saw to prune 1” and larger branches on my shrubs and trees. It does a great job. I love the smooth, powerful, orbital cutting action of this saw. Its great handle and palm grip allows me to maintain safe control of the saw while cutting, even in tight, hard-to-reach positions. The twist-lock, tool-free blade change mechanism makes blade changes quick and easy. You will love this quality, well-engineered saw.
Good saw for the price
Would RecommendI bought this saw because I needed something to cut boards off of pallets without tearing up the wood. I wasn't expecting much because of the price and brand but I was glad to be wrong. This saw cut through the nails very quick and I also used it to cut the top off a metal barrel. I would highly recommend this if you are on a budget or just need it for projects around the house.
PORTER-CABLE 7.5-Amp Keyless Variable Speed Corded
Would RecommendGave this saw as a Christmas gift and my brother-in-law loved it. Very satisfied with my purchase.
Great Saw
Would RecommendSo far this has saved me well. Used it this week to help me with a shower and deck at our trailer. Easy to use and had enough power for my uses. Even cut so tree roots with it. Made it an easier time for sure. Blade changing was very easy with just a thumb and fingers. Lightweight and just plain enjoyable to use. I thought about cordless but am over charging batteries or forgetting to charge them. Most of the time I am around an outlet or have an extension cord. This is my fourth Porter Cable pr...
Low quality
Would Not RecommendBought this saw Black Friday thinking it would be similar to the porter cable I have at work. I was wrong. Purchased saw to cut up pallets, within a few hours of use the foot had nearly bent to the point of breaking. Would have given one star but the saw is quite strong for the price so two stars it is. Save your money and buy higher quality saw for double the price
Great Gift
Would RecommendWe gave this tool as a gift and the recipient loved it.
Good basic saw
Would RecommendFor the price, this saw has done exactly what I needed. Cutting osb for rough window openings, rough cutting 2 x 4's, etc.. Was surprised at the power at only 7.5 amps. Good homeowner saw.
Beast
Would RecommendThis thing is an absolute beast. I've used this recipro for roughly 2 years. It's cut through countless pieces of old 3" and 4" cast iron pipe. With a fresh abrasive diamond blade and its like a hot knife through butter. I've had mine so hot in demo-ing cast iron I've had it smoking and I've melted some of the rubber grip on the top from getting it so hot. It has never let me down. Not once. Reliable. Tough. Dependable.
Bad design, blade tip moves sideways
Would Not RecommendBought this unit. With metal blades, the tip vibrates 2"-3". With Wood blade blade is stable. Metal blade is thinner than Wood blade. Went back to store. Lowes associate took new another unit and we tried it we multiple blade brands they have in stock. Same effect. The testing I did and in the store was made without load and free running of the saw. If one wants to use it on metal, I would say the tool is useless.
gets the job done
My ryobi quit after 2 years the blade attachment part rusted shut. I replaced with this porter cable. Cutting 4 in and 2 in cast iron pipe. Abs pipe and wood or nails. Basically I replaced a 1930s sewer system using this ex posing it to metal, water mud. I used this to make and rough in a window. Just get the right blades for the the task/material you are cutting. It takes all blade brands, they all fit dewault, Milwaukee etc. have abused this tool since its so cheap and it keeps going. Onl...
