Decent grinder

I use one at work in a fab shop almost everyday cuts and grinds great only problem I have is I burn them up probly one a month but for the price with the warranty I bought 2 so I'm nvr down one. Like the design a lot better that many more expensive versions

Surprisingly powerful (amps do matter)

I had a concrete bathroom floor that needed to be stripped before tiling. Using a diamond grinding cup, I started with the low 4.5 amp grinder I had. Cannot be used to cut granite

Bought one to cut granite. 30 minutes after.. this guy's arbor just die. Cannot hold disc any more. Hopefully I can return it for a reasonable one.

For $40 I couldn't ask for a better piece of equipment. This grinder did everything I asked it to do with no problems. I use it for automotive work.

Great Grinder

This grinder was easy to assemble,I went to work right away with it, and worked it hard. When I finished the project I couldn't tell what color it used to be,lol. Wiped it off and it looks brand new,ready for the next job.

Best grinder that I have ever bought!

I want to start by saying that I have ran through three grinders before this one. I do alot of metal work and couldn't seem to find a good grinder to last a long time. Well, for just forty bucks I got your hands on this porter cable and it does great. I have had this grinder for over size months and still have not burned up to the slightest degree. My first Angle Grinder

I have used grinders before and this one works just fine. I have done some heavy wood grinding and it does the job. I like the trigger switch, though a paddle switch might be even better. My only complaint is that the wheel needs to be removed to loosen screws to move the blade guard, where some grinders just have a friction lock. The price was right and it seems to be a quality built tool.

Horrible vibration

Bought this as a second grinder so I wouldn't have to constantly switch discs on my Dewalt. Can't use it for more than about 30 seconds to a minute at a time as the vibration is horrible.

THIS grinder is severely under powered.

Got hot quick. Just grinding old mastic OFF a hardy backer. Took it back quickly. Afraid it wouldn't finish the small JOB i had. WOULD cost me more than i made to keep. This grinder for future jobs. Went to home depot and got a Makita. Which is what i had for ten years

PORTER-CABLE 4-1/2-in 7-Amp Angle Grinder

Never owned a angle grinder, seen this at my local Lowe's and decided to give it a try, I'm trying to get my Ford Tractor ready for painting in the spring and this lil beauty has been awesome. It's easy to use, has all of the power I need and at a great price.

Can NOT use flat cutoff wheels

The 7 amp model has different guards than this model. I took it back due to the fact that I can not use flat metal cutting wheels with the supplied guard. Flat type of cutoff wheels contact the guard. If all you're going to do is remove rust, 5then I'm sure this would work fine. The price is fine, it feels like it's build well, but the engineering of the guard totally screwed up a potentially good product. Only Used Once, but It Did the Job.

I have only used the grinder once. I needed to smooth out a 2'x12' section of a concrete patio. It worked well and I didn't have any issues with the machine. It took me about 2 hours which felt very reasonable. If I were to do much of this type of work I would probably want something with a larger grinding wheel, but this was a small job. Best investment I ever made. I only had to cut about twenty bricks and it worked great. Best 55.00 I ever spent ! I say $55 because I also bought the Skil diamond blade. Just make sure you get the seven amp mod.

powerful little machine

I immediately began to use it cutting bricks and chunks of cement and mortar. powerful and durable. it works like a charm!
