I was using a Bosch grinder to cut stone and burned it up. Not the tool's fault, in fact the Bosch was a better feel in that it was lighter and a hair more ergonomic. The difference is the price. This grinder is substantial in every way. I like that it is longer, not stubby, easier to freewheel with one hand while holding the stone with the other. Porter Cable Comes Through

I have several power tools from PC and like the quality. They make a smaller grinder, but for not much more $$ you get this more powerful model.

Would of gave it a five star, as it seems to be a decent grinder for the money, but it DID NOT come with the metal grinding wheel. Lowes has been notified, we will see what happens next.

Porter Cable 4.5 inch grinder

Worked great with a 5 inch concrete grinder/smoother wheel. For me the trigger worked better than the button type. Plenty of power and will balanced.

More than good, a pleasure to use

I must have a thing for angle grinders because I own at least 5 of them and don't get paid for making things for a living. When I do use an angle grinder for building my own wood stove, making my own tools, and building implements for my farm, I prefer to keep separate wheels on each grinder to avoid having to switch out wheels. I like the length of the handle and location of the trigger which make it easy to hold for extended periods of time.

Great Angle Grinder

This Porter Cable angle grinder is a great tool. I love the handle design and is much more comfortable to hold and work with than so many of the other grinders I looked at. Plenty of power for the homeowner/diy'er needs in my opinion. The only negative I would say about this grinder is the shield/guard attaches with 3 screws and a spring washer which you must remove when you want to use a sanding backer pad. Excellent Value

Bought this when i needed to grind some bolts off my pickup/fifth wheel hitch. Worked like a charm and cost considerably less than other 7.5 amp grinders at Lowes.

Durability and power

Great product - Porter Cable brand name is taking a beating, and this is a classic example of a company making a well built product and selling it at close to cost, to help improve their image.

GREAT for the money.

I wanted a angle grind for sometime now.I used it cut bolts that were rusted tight.Cut those 22 1/2 in bolts in no time with only minor wear to the cutting disk.

Great Value

I am very impressed with the grinder. It feels durable. I like the option to move the handle if needed. It has plenty of power for me.

Getting it ready to use was a challenge. I don't have a lot of hand strength and taking it apart to put the cut blade on was a challenge.

excellent grinder for the price

The price of this grinder low but the quality is not, I started buying porter cable tools about two years ago and so far i'm very happy with them.

Don't waste your money

I was able to use this grinder twice before it quit working. By the time it quit I was outside of the warranty so I went ahead and opened it up to see if it could be fixed. The end of the armature had separated and ripped the brushes out. Don't waste your money on this grinder.

nice little grinder

I picked this up the other day, in reality it's supposed to be a "throwaway" to me. I'm not really welding anymore so I rarely need one of these. Not a "throwaway" anymore! I bought this to clean up a bunch of splitting wedges and such that are badly mushroomed, and I do mean bad. I pushed this thing hard for over an hour and it didn't even heat up.
