Pretty Decent Tool

Definitely requires a 4.0ah battery. This is Porter Cables premium version of the the recip saw and is far superior to the cheaper PCC671 that is thrown into black battery kits. The cheaper PCC671 is just a recolored Black and Decker model where this PCC670 is based on an older Dewalt model.

Works very well

Cuts very good the battery has decent run time.

Again saw soso but bad blades.

The saw seems to be OK at this early date but the blades as on thier oscillating saw are bad. Again buy Bosch!

I received the reciprocating saw for free, by purchasing a two pack of batteries and charger for $99.00. I have a corded Makita, it will now stay in the box.

Good but issues

Work great for the home jobs we do. However, we were upset the price does NOT include the battery or the charger. So don’t be fooled by the price. You will actually spend close to $170.

Simple to Set-up, Works Great

I will caveat this by saying I’ve only used this product once so my review is based on that. However, product very simple to set-up; install blade, your pre-existing Porter-Cable 20V battery and your off and running. I used this to trim 4x4 posts and it cut through them just fine. Probably would have been easier with optional longer blade, but I can’t knock product because I chose to do it with included blade. Great Reciprocating Saw

I purchased this saw along with 7 other Porter Cable 20 volt tools about a year and a half ago and I have been very, very happy with them. The reciprocating saw has also surprised those who work with me at its power and endurance. The only complaint I have is that it needs a guard over the part where the blade slips in. I have caught my finger in it at least three times and others who have used it have also. It leaves your finger bleeding and in pain. I've learned to keep my finger back now...

Weak parts

This is my second saw in two years. The first one was just two years old and the blade release broke I sent it baxk to company and they said it wasn't a manufacturer defect ad therefore not under warranty but would repair it for $45 Why pay to repair when new one is only $59.

Seems good but its not.

Yes this saw works good at first. Don't put pressure on it while cutting! The top part of the gear box is plastic with metal inserts which part of the shaft rides on to keep the blade straight. When applying pressure like you would to any saw it creates heat. Heat is fine with a metal gearbox but not with one that is part plastic. Yes the plastic on the gear box melts and the saw stops working.

It's the way to go, Cordless

Bought to add with my other Porter Cable 20v tools and very pleased with them. I bought Two each 2 packs of PC 4.0 batteries on Black Friday for $89 per 2 pack, now having 4 of these and i'm set with extra batteries. I will not go back to corded tools again, actually been using battery tools back to the days of 18v tools. This tool works great for my use, my daughter just bought her first house and have been using the Porter Cable tools there a lot. I would highly recommend these tools, so nice...

Great product. Very reasonable vost.

This item is a work horse. I wish a battery came with it, but that would have brought the price up.I am amazed how long the unit works on a charge.

Worked with my smaller 20volt batteries that I had for my portable skill saw. Very pleased with the value and performance

Love it

I bought this tool to help with pruning my trees. I don’t have to break out my chainsaw anymore. It is also safer getting up and down a ladder with this tool than a running chainsaw.

Up in smoke

Used it lightly for just over a year. Sadly it just quit after smoking etc. Very lightweight but seem cheaply made. Too bad I am just a week out of the 1 year warranty.

Nice saw

Bought this on sale at Lowe’s. Already had set of other tools with 20v battery. Worked great for the job.
