Get the protection plan for sure

This is my third unit in about 3-4 years. Great unit except It seems it can’t handle any power surges . This time a snake shorted out the pump and the unit died.

Open box does not equal NEW

Product didn't want to connect to wifi at first AND it was an open box with missing parts. obviously returned previously, but since I asked for a pick up, I got the lucky "open box" item given to me. I got it to work, but when I buy an open box item, I expect a discount, not full price and of course, when I pick it myself, I would avoid an open box on the shelf. I'll never use a pick up option again.

Short Life Span

The device works well and served its purpose until the wifi cratered at 29 months. The program still functions, and it can be Bluetooth controlled.

Don't use in central or south Florida

Smart watering is disabled with no ability to override from Oct- Feb. This means that unless you manually water during this time, your plants won't be watered even though plants still grow in FL during this time. you can manually schedule, though this means if it rains, you'll still be watering. Orbits support said this "feature" is why my grass is dying.

No customer support

Unit stopped working. No AC error code. Went through all the trouble shooting and still nothing worked. Now a blank screen. There is power to the outlet, did multiple resets and NOTHING. Had it over 2 years and customer service at Orbit said they could not do anything. DO NOT BUY unless you're okay replacing it every 2 years.

sold a returned item as new

I questioned then at the time of pick up and they told all the parts were there. However someone else put in codes and prepped the control box and then returned it. I'm taking it back for an unopened product. I hope they don't hassle me about it......

Great controller

I have been using Orbit controllers for about 10 years. I recently upgraded 4 of my rental houses to this newer Bhyve model. It makes it so much easier to check on the systems. No longer, do I need to drive to each property, walk into the backyard, avoiding dogs and s.t.u.f.f. I asked each tenant to allow me to connect them to their home WiFi and now I can sit at home and adjust the programs (or anything for that matter). 3 Foot Power Cord!

Not recommended! I purchased an Orbit controller about 3 or 4 years ago, and recently, it stopped working. Since the same model was still available, I thought getting another one would be convenient for installation. Easy to install.

Super happy with this. My previous timer had a date from 1995 on it. Well the last two years I was having to go out and roll the dial manually for the daily cycles. Incredibly easy to set up and run

It is really easy to set up watering schedules for every station - flower beds and lawn - flexibility to set up varied start times and schedules, even for very hot days, has kept our landscaping happy! The app is simple to use and since we travel frequently, the WiFi connection will be valuable so we can delay it in case of rain.

Super easy smart phone controlled sprinkler system

This product was super easy to install, it only took me about 10 minutes from start to finish. The app was also easy to install and very user friendly. I would definitely recommend this product.

Do not buy this product. We had it mounted inside our garage about 20 ft from the router on the other side of a wall. It was a bit flaky from the beginning and would at times disconnect, but it ran. Bought this in April 2021, It died in July 2023. "No AC" error on the display screen. The wall plug was still live and the internal transformer was still producing 27.8 volts to the mainboard.
