Reliable and Secure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] had these locks for a few years and they hold up great and never had an issue with the operation of the locks. Had on cosmetic issue and the Warranty took care of it without issue. Customer for life!

Works great for a few months

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased three (3) Smartcode 912's this year that I use with Smartthings home automation. Within a few months, all 3 of these locks started having problems. They first lost communication with the Smartthings hub, and then the keypad stops working. The locks are installed on a beach house, so the salty air could be a problem. Based on my experience with three of these locks, they should NOT be on the market.

Extremely durable

Works great. Will not disappoint

This is the second of this style and ninth Kwikset push button kick in the last fifteen years at two houses. Great if you or kids are bad about forgetting keys. Also allows you to have one key to fit all.

Handles slide off easily

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited about this lock until a month after install my daughter opened the door and the handle slid right off. This lock is too expensive to defect so easily.

Great when it works.

I have had 2 locks replaced, one lasted 1-1/2 years, the other about 9 weeks. This is a great lock when its working.

Style is perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this door set. I bought my first one about three years ago and decided to buy two more when I put in two other new doors. no more worrying about keys. Yeah!!

Good Locking Handle

I have had this handle for little over a year. It works great for kids. Eliminates the need to worry about them having a key or misplacing the key.

Great Solution

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife has been making keys for babysitters for the last few years and not getting them back once the babysitter has moved on. Since I don't have deadbolts on a couple of my doors, this was the obvious solution. It took me about 45 minutes to install them and about 5 minutes to link them to my home automation system. Now we can add delete codes for the babysitters as needed.

Programming issues but works well otherwise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this at the same time as the smartcode deadbolt to replace hardware on a new home. This one installed easily but the programming was a nightmare. I had to reset it several times before it would finally recognize and save the code. Once I got it working though, it's been flawless.

Eats Batteries!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the convenience of this lock; however, we have to replace the batteries every 3-4 WEEKS!! I always use the best alkaline or lithium batteries, but it makes no difference. My husband is a Facilities Engineer and has used a variety of electronic locks for years and only has to replace batteries every 1-2 YEARS or longer in his facilities. This is ridiculous. Two of them worked for about 5 minutes each.

I have returned two of these. Each worked for several minutes after installation. After that, the lock/unlock knob got tight and the motor would lock and unlock the unit only about every third try. Not sure what happens, but many other folks have the same issue. The similar schlage is not nearly as nice looking, but apparently works better.

Easy program

Kwikset stands by its products!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with this. One day it stopped working...after the tech on the phone walked me through some reset and it did not fix the issue, Kwikset sent a replacement within days. Very happy with Kwikset

Internal Spring Keeps Breaking (2nd Set)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've purchased 2 of these, one to replace the other as one of the internal springs keeps breaking, causing the physical locking mechanism to malfunction. Been trying to fabricate my own, more heavy duty, spring, but i'm just getting fed up with this lock.
