What Customers Are Saying

The Kobalt torque wrench offers a range of torque settings and is easy to use, making it suitable for smaller, light-duty tasks. However, some users reported issues with accuracy, particularly at lower torque levels, and a few experienced the wrench breaking bolts. Additionally, the new packaging design was criticized as difficult to open without damaging the case.

Torque Wrench

Would Recommend

I've only used this once so far on a job that only needed 20ft/lbs. of torque but it worked well! It was very easy to use.

Solid tool

The feedback it gives you when you hit the desired torque is obvious and immediate. Ran it through a lot of work on replacing car suspension parts and never had any problems with it.

Nice Torque

Never owned or operated one. Have always just changed mower blades with a socket wrench. I'm not mechanically inclined, but the directions were easy. PS. The blades are still attached to the mower. lol

Built quality is outstanding

Would Recommend

I bought my dream car at the age of 22, and wanted to start doing preventative maintenance so that it will last. The Kobalt torque wrench was one of the first tools I bought and it felt really good on the grip and quality was amazing, feels like it will last a lifetime

I’m just street rodding an old trees so this will only be used occasionally. It is easy to read, set value and has a solid feel. Troy

Torque Wrench

Our son works at a car dealership and needs reliable tools. We got this for one of his Christmas Gifts and have to say he was completely delighted to get it. This wrench seems to be of very good quality and hopefully last him for many years to come. I can say from my experience the brand speaks for it's self.

good for what it is

If you torque things from time to time i suspect this will be well within limits for quite some time. If you use this on a regular basis dont expect it to maintain specs. We bought one just a bit over a year ago and use it regularly. About to put an engine together and sent it to a local place who checks calibration and makes sure its within the acceptable 4% variance. Best the could get was 12% possibly and it could not be adjusted. FWIW its a $60 torque wrench and not a $350 Snap On. Im curiou...

Junk

Almost never clicks or otherwise indicates proper torque has been reached. Wanted to like this wrench, it looks nice and feels solid, but that is worthless if it doesn't work. Really dissapointed I spent $60. I wish I had that money back.

Broke After Minimal Use - Bait & Switch Warranty

Would Not Recommend

I bought this years ago when it had a lifetime warranty. It has not seen much use in that time. I use it for 100 ft/lb lug nuts primarily. It was used once on a 150 ft/lb axle nut about 3 years ago. Once in a great while it would be used for bearing caps, ring gear bolts etc. As far as torque wrenches are concerned, this thing had an easy life. Recently, it started to pop & skip while torquing lugs, and it was far from being near to the torque setting. I checked the screws on the head and they ...

Well worth the money spent

Had to replace front wheel bearing in my car. The torque of the hub nut is 159 foot pounds. The wrench was perfect for the job. Just a heads up. It is to long to work in fender well.

Screws on the head don’t stay tight

Would Recommend

I have had two of these and the screws back out of the ratchet, which allows the ratchet gears to break. Welding the screws in is the only way I could get them to stay. I tried lock tight, but they still got loose

Factory settings not correct.

Would Not Recommend

Torque was set to 45 ft lbs and wrench never clicked or made an audible noise and I kept tightening and the bolt would have sheared off had it not broken the swivel joint socket attatchment. The man at the return said I was lucky it broke the attachment and not any major bolts on my engine. Never will I buy another Kobalt hand tool. Craftsman or Rigid only from now on for any socket or wrench I will ever need all day.

great torque wrench

Would Recommend

I have a couple of these Kobalt torque wrenches in my toolbox at home and also in my box at work and theyre great. The length is great when leverage is needed to apply 200 ft/lbs on fittings. I have other brands that do not have the length, thus provide the leverage that are much more inexpensive and their durability and reliability are reflected as such.
