Good Quality, Lame Case

Works just as well as the other Kobalt torque wrenches that I have. Not as nice as CDI, but better than most other big box brands. Downside is that it doesnt come in a clamshell case. The clear olastic cover breaks as soon as you try to open the item. Even then, the cover just kind of sits there. Not exactly ideal.

Had to replace oil pan

Trusted this to work properly and torqued oil drain plug to 28 ft-lb. Had to replace the oil pan when the drain plug spun around and would not back out due to stripping of the plug's threads. Tried on a new oil pan and stopped because it felt very tight. I then tried it on my lug nuts and it would not click! This cost me a good bit of time and money. I will drive the extra 10 miles to the big orange from now on. I can't return it for money anymore and I can see why.

Very old stock

Item instructions state torque wrench must be re-calibrated every year irregardless of amount of usage. Wrench sent to me was already 2 years old(mfg. and initial calibration in 2019), rendering it unusable.

Great value

Fit, form, and function are good. It is well made. The click-handle sets very definitively in each notch.

Works but didn’t last

Used this many times for about a month. Maybe the 15th use when trying to torque a bolt to 85ftpds, the head of the wrench broke off in the socket......so if you only want a torque for fewer than 15 uses and can give up a socket in the process. This wrench is for you.
