What Customers Are Saying
The Kobalt torque wrench offers a range of torque settings and is easy to use, making it suitable for smaller, light-duty tasks. However, some users reported issues with accuracy, particularly at lower torque levels, and a few experienced the wrench breaking bolts. Additionally, the new packaging design was criticized as difficult to open without damaging the case.

Would Recommend[Employee of lowes] Quality tool for a good value. Great for my limited use versus paying for the high priced option. Works great for what I needed it for.

Be patient with the dial indicator
Would RecommendI’ve found it a little tricky to find a 1/4” torque wrench anymore but this little fella did the trick. Primarily used for small engine work and it does just great for what i need and fit and finish feels great too.

It’s a very well built product
Would RecommendHaven’t used yet but no doubt it will work great the only reason it’s 4 and not 5 is bc it takes forever to get it from 250 to 50 ftlbs feels heavy duty

the scale is hard to read and the collar doesn't line up with the intersection where the torque number line intersects the vertical line like other torque wrenches. it's very easy to make this not clique so attention is required to make sure the handle is properly positioned with no pressure on it before tightening. when it does clique its noticeable. My money would have been better applied to a quality torque wrench that does 5 to 75 ft lbs, or if I needed something that could measure under 5...

Good for occasional use
Would RecommendArrived broken, sockets would not stay on drive. Returned to the store. If not for that problem I would have given it a 5. Good tool for occasional home use.

We're sorry to hear that it arrived damaged. Thank you for sharing your shipping experience with us, DIYer. We appreciate your business!

Defective right out of the box
Drive head socket retention ball was stuck completely in the drive head , sockets had to be held on. Had to return wrench. If not for that defect I would have given it 5 stars. Can't beat it for the price for occasional home use.

Kobalt finally honored warranty
Would RecommendOriginally post 6/2024 about not honoring the warranty. They sent me new screws but the wrong length; when contacted they sent me a torque wrench! Took some time to get to the correct person but then she stayed up on the problem and fixed it. The torque wrench works very well and I'm happy with it.

Great deal at $55
Would RecommendNo plastic parts, all metal construction. This wrench was purchased to replace an old and defective craftsman wrench. I've always like Kobalt tools and gave this one a try. I was reading the reviews and found some of them hilarious and others informative. Unlike some, I had no trouble getting the box open and pulling out the wrench. I intend to keep the wrench in the box when not in use. I tested the wrench and it works. The torque wrench is new so I can't comment on its longevity. It will...

Didn’t click
Would Not RecommendJust bought today… taking it back tomorrow. No click when tightening . Glad I stopped tightening to here the click on recommended 80 in lbs. if broke bolt doubt if this manufacturer would help fix on my engine after tightening too tight hoping for a click

Nice little wrench for light duty
Would RecommendFirst off, for those of you who couldn't get the wrench out without destroying everything, please retire your tools and hire a mechanic. Had the wrench out in seconds and didn't damage anything. Here is a little tip, slice the top of the black pin and push the rest in, slide cover comes right off, and then if you can't get your sausage fingers into the case to get it out there is another tool called a screw driver that pops the wrench out with zero effort. Ok, so as far as the tool goes . It's g...
Great tool!
Would RecommendGreat little tool ! was glad to see that the calibration certificate has it calibrated to its very lowest setting. I torqued a bolt with this, marked it with paint, loosened it, re torqued it with my $400 precision digital torque wrench and the paint marks lined up exactly. As far as the other bad reviews regarding the case I took a set of needle nose pliers button pulled right out and case in perfect condition
Thanks for your feedback, Craig! We appreciate it and your continued support of the Kobalt brand.

Not for everyday use
I am a full time medium duty diesel tech. (Yes ik this is a Kobalt torque wrench) And for what it does it’s great, but over time and everyday use it deteriorates. This is the second time mine has quite litteraly blown up while torquing down lug nuts. Good for home use and that’s it.
Hi Preston, thank you for your feedback. This torque wrench is covered by a 1-year warranty and can be exchanged at your local store.

Kobalt won't honor waranty
Would Not RecommendWrench missing a screw; they can not send me a screw because they don't have parts. When I bought it, the box said it has a life time warranty. Now kobalt says no; only one year. I cut out the box and kept it. Pictures enclosed.

no click, useless other than a wrench
Would Not RecommendI do not write many reviews, but I read one that was exactly what I wanted to say. I have used a lot of torque wrenches; right out of the box it did not work. I did try to see if it was uncalibrated, but it never clicked. Package says all products are tested, clearly not.
Hi shane, the torque wrench is covered under Kobalt's warranty for 1 year and can be returned or exchanged at your local store. Thanks!
