Too expensive to break after minimal use

I received this as a gift some time ago and it has rarely been used. It has sat on my counter for the span of its short life. I was using the mixer to make a cake and the bowl broke. I cut my hand after realizing too late the heavy glass bowl had broken. It is broken in the same spot as the other posters.

Great bowl . . .before it breaks.

I received this mixer as a gift, and it has largely been unused until very recently. Now that we are in quarantine, I have been baking frequently, and my bowl cracked right in the middle of mixing a batch of chocolate chip cookies for a birthday. Replacement bowl does not fit mixer

I was excited to finally see this bowl in stock to replace my broken glass bowl. I ordered it, received it, and attached it to mix my pie filling. It does not fit the 6500 mixer. The bowl is not the same style as the original bowl and looks cheaply made. The paddle attachment grinds against the bottom of the glass bowl making it unusable. I am very disappointed.

Glass bowl cracked

My Kitchen Aid glass bowl cracked while in regular use. I don’t think I will buy another glass bowl to replace. While I really enjoy being able to see if the food was being fully mixed Im not sure that it’s worth the safety issue of the bowl breaking while under normal use.

Disappointing product - both bowl and mixer

I got the mixer for Christmas several years ago and I was very excited because of the larger capacity from my existing machine. However, it has never mixed properly (does not cream butter and sugar properly) and while I still used it with increasing frustration over the years (because it was expensive!), yesterday while hand washing it, the bowl suddenly broke. Great mixer, gorgeous bowl that broke

I loved this mixer until the glass bowl broke. It was always hand washed and well taken care of. Disappointing to have forked out all the money to not have the bowl last.

Bowl cracks way too easily

I have owned this mixer for 5 hrs and have had two bowls crack and the rubber trim on the outside of the bowl always falls off. I wish they would just make a stainless steel bowl that fits this mixer

Love the mixer

I am heartbroken that my glass bowl cracked. I am starting my own utube video on baking and wanted to use it in the video and now I have no mixer. Please help.

Not a great item!

I bought this item and the bowl cracked. Replacement Bowl out of stock . How long will it take to get a replacement. This looks like a common problem with this item.

Bowl broken

My husband got this for me as a Christmas gift, I was skeptical about the bowl because it was so heavy and glass. My gut feelings were right. I pulled it out this morning and the bowl is broken. There is a crack at the bottom of the bowl making it useless. I can’t find a decent replacement bowl. I am very disappointed in this product. The other issue I had with this mixer is the paddles do not reach far enough to mix everything. I have to stop it multiple times to scrape the bottom and sides.

I've had my mixer for years and I've loved it. But recently large pieces fell off the side after lifting the bowl top mix. I've looked everywhere for a replacement, with no luck at all. This seems to be a common issue with a lot of people. I've missed using my mixer as it's one of the most used items in my kitchen. I would love to hopefully find a solution to the lack of replacement bowl.

Thick glass cracks and breaks sooooo easily

I've had my stand mixer for a few years. It came with a metal bowl and I finally decided to splurge and get the glass bowl. I was in the middle of making cookies and tapped a spoon on the side of it - not too hard- and a large chunk of the glass broke off. This isn’t exactly a cheap accessory and for the thick glass to break so easily is really disappointing. I absolutely love my stand mixer and use it quite often. Sadly, I even purchased this bowl for my mom too.

Fragile glass bowl

Bought the 575 model and it came with the glass bowl. For one the spatula doesn’t scrape the bottom of the bowl so I have to use a hand spatula just to scrape the bottom. Upon removing from the box it was very difficult putting the bowl on. So I left it alone. And the first time using the bowl it cracked when I was finally able to get it locked on.. Glass bowl cracks easily

Got a KitchenAid 6 quart mixer for my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas. They took it out of the box and placed it on the mixer and it cracked. They didn’t even get to use it.

Flawed Glass Bowl Design - Great Mixer though

I had this mixer for all of a few months when the bowl cracked, all the way down. I’ve been trying to find the bowl available and in stock when I have the $$$ to throw at it. It’s super pricey and I can’t find a metal option as a replacement. I would rather not have another glass one break as others have done. very disappointed!!!

My husband bought a lift mixer for me 1 year ago because my hand mixer (40 years old) finally bit the dust. He chose the model KF26M22SR because of the heavy duty glass bowl. Last Christmas I used it and then this Thanksgiving. My first use this Christmas and while hand washing I saw a crack! So disappointed that I just after a few uses the bowl is cracked and there is no replacement! Now I have a beautiful mixer that cannot be used. I am very disappointed. Do not buy!

Love this mixer!

Love the mixer but would like to purchase an additional 6 qt glass bowl so I don't have to wash and dry in between batches. Have you started offering the glass bowl for purchase separately yet? Thank you.
