Would RecommendI had previously purchased a Church brand, because they were out of the Kohler. I'll never make that mistake again. We now have two of these in the house, replacing the far inferior Church, which lasted only about a year before it started coming loose from the bowl. It's not worth it, and the Kohler has had none of those problems. I'd heartily recommend this, despite the fairly high price point. At least it works, and installation is mindlessly simple, taking me less than 5 minutes.
New improvements over original
Would RecommendI have an older model of this same seat. The older model's brackets are loose fitting and moves around while sitting. This new model has cone shaped nuts that pull up from the bottom and lock it down very tight. There's no wiggle in this new design. Slow close feature works fine. A little expensive for what it is.

Would RecommendThe only negative is that I have bought 3 from various sources over the last 2 years and have had 3 broken hinges. The great feature besides soft close is the breakaway hinge. The way it is packaged seems to lead to cracked hinges, so be careful about that.

Good Features but does not fit American Standard
Would RecommendI liked the feature of being able to easily slide the seat off of the toilet to clean. Seems to be a solid seat. However, since it did not properly fit my American Standard Cadet Elongated toilet I had to return it. If you are purchasing for a Kohler elongated toilet it you will probably be happy with it.

Poor Design
Would Not RecommendI don't like the new seat design that allows quick removal of the seat for cleaning. Where the seat attaches to the toilet is weak and the seat will slide to the right or left when you set on it. Stronger design where it attaches to the toilet is needed. Returned to store.

Would RecommendSeat is comfortable and super easy to install. Seat stays in place and no slam feature works very well. There are no drawbacks I can list except perhaps to add a heater and a deodorizer. Those features are available in a more expensive version.

Awful Seat!
Would Not RecommendI have no idea why this seat has received good reviews! Maybe I just got a "lemon" model, but this seat with its quick release design has been a nightmare!! The plastic covers that "hold" the seat in place almost ALWAYS pop up letting the seat slide forward! It never stays in place. Nobody in my family is large, and it shouldn't slide! Most certainly NOT worth the money!
